Looking at the Old Bulls birthdays recently it has become obvious that using the term Old Bull can be rather confusing, after all the term Old Bull Trail Riders conjurs the thought of a group of old blokes well past the best doddering around the trails stopping after 10 mins to get some oxygeon from their on board tank and spending 20 mins every half hour having a leak.
Instead the unsuspecting newby turning up to a ride with these old farts is stunned to see everything from 20 year olds (like Sam and Smurph) screaming through the bush on only one wheel all the way through would be champions and onto genuine old farts like me. To remove this misconception maybe we should be classifying the range of old bulls and allowing older bulls special priviliges like after a certain age you can roost others but never be roostered by others.
While we could use old car classifications like current model, classic, vintage or vetran, I reckon we should institute a bovine based classification along these terms:
Calf – 20 or under
Milk Tooth – 20-35
Two Tooth – 36-45
Four tooth – 46-55
Full Mouth – 56 -65
Broken Mouth over 65 (sorry Damus, you may prefer vetran or more accuratley- legond)
Cull – Any old bull no longer riding
Mad Bull – special classification for Bob and Menace
We can even have a steer classification for Bollocks and in respect for our female riders they can all be heifers rather than progressing to old cows.it would go along with ride gradings so a Boony Adventure ride would be a grade 1 ride for bulls older than four tooth and a Murphsburg would be a grade five for calves or bulls with mad cow disease.
April 3, 2013 at 8:49 am #238989Pure Gold Snowy. When I stop laughing I will actually comment on the options
April 3, 2013 at 8:57 am #238990WOW
I think ya may have something there Snowman
I did try and read back through it, but am too pickled too understand, I think??
I can understand the grading system ( 1 to 5, I don’t doubt there are 6’s out there.?/??/?)
I am struggling with 5’s thankyou. :woohoo:
I guess it depends on who (how many teeth) have put up the ride.
Still gotta get you boys down our way soon??????????????????????
We are working on it, this winter. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
The grade will be what I (Don’t forget that I am an Old Fart too) will assume it to be. 👿 :pinch:
Looks like I have derailed myself again. :woohoo:
Cheers
MurphApril 3, 2013 at 8:57 am #238991Sounds good snowy, but the older I get the more teeth I loose.
Do sheep grow big teeth when they turn to hoggets.
not toesApril 3, 2013 at 9:17 am #239002Am always persuaded by my kid. (hasn’t even cut his teeth, Sorry just in the Milk tooth area)
The ride labeled Southend, will be as hard as I can do. This, to the likes of Milk Tooth Bulls???? may be (will be) much easier due to age and thus fitness.
Oh to be young again
Never say DIE!!!!!!!!!!!! 👿
Love
MurphP.S Ran into a funny looking bloke today. :woohoo:

Or if you were not giving milk you’d be a dry cow
If you were randy you’d be bulling
If you’d had your baby makers tied off you could be a spaid cow
If you were asexual you could be a freemarten.Seriously I think heifer is much more appealing than any of this lot.
April 3, 2013 at 10:09 am #238993Far out … your multiple choice options suck! Fine I’ll be a heifer
So next girls ride … should we post it as a Heifers ride? 😆

But thanks for the lesson on cattle. If I have to take an Ag science class next year the kids will be impressed 😆
Feel free to classify the rides, good idea, but if one of you refers to me as a heifer there will be hell to pay!April 4, 2013 at 10:56 am #238996Well i thought a heifer was pre first calf ,springing was about to drop a calf and when your past it
you were a high boner. seriously carn’t we just call it super fast [ for the young and those with no fear ] fast[for those with hind sight ] and slow for those who think before they twist the throttle. -
