Cheers Trent I dont want a Bemmer though, they are a great bike but there are a few personal reasons I dont want one ;) They are a nice bike though I look at Mal5.1’s a lot very nice but not for me

A Honda rider on a BMW would be like feeding champagne and strawberries to pigs.

Seriously TB, just get the XT660Z, you know you want it. I’m betting you will look at and test ride everything else and still get the Yamaha. Just do it.

Not really Scotty, the KTM690 is a serious consideration its the cost of accessories and spares that really scares me with the BMW and especially after shopping with Mal5.1. I would also cry if I crashed a BMW where the Tenere is a Yamaha really
I have spoken with Vince Strang last week regarding DR650’s and the ones he mods which was interesting.

Sutto is doing the big sell on the Kato and Mal is there for the accessories and spares but shit I would rightly cop it for years to come if I bought a Kato which doesnt worry me as I have big shoulders. And if you give you have to be prepared to take it :P

Is it just the crash bars Rocket? Price wise I haven’t exactly got the price part down pat yet as I guess I haven’t 100% made my mind up. Ring around, Bike Biz at Parramatta have a demo Rocket they could be a good price check

    What colour is it?

Your opinion is the same as mine, I would have to set the KTM up to change it to suit touring, screen, tank, seat a lot of work. Mal at Sutto’s agrees but hey I will look.

They are the same bike though I agree and it has a linkage

    TB,

Done a few km’s on various things from the very first Te’ne’re (cape in 84) had the KLR650 in late 80’s (same bike as now!!) had a 1150GS for a few years, and had a KTM640adv. Never had a drama with that 660 Yamaha motor (in Raptor quad’s) and looked at one yesterday at shop, looks good, easy parts to get! Tow loop is probably just a “tough piece” more likely it will run out of fuel and thats not the bike’s fault is it!

Major selling point when I got rid of the 640adv was the bloody vibration, through both your ass and the pegs, it was terrible. sure you could add a sheepskin and put the rubber back in the pegs but…. it still is vibrating!!

I like Mal’s thing and I(personally) would go that way, but if that wasn’t around I’d probably go the 660!
