$160 sounds a bit steep to me for a kit. Can`t find any on FleaBay at the moment but leave it with me & I will sort the exhaust first, then might look for a deal on the JD KIT.Thanx anyway, will keep you in mind for sure, cold be a good catch up with you & Sal for a BBQ
Needle is N1TC and jet should be 122-127 around about
Think I have a 300 carby, some jets/needles, maybe even a pumper carby, will check tonight. If you go a pumper carby the one you need is (mikuni TM 33-8012)
Also do the crank case breather mod, this helps also
cheers hatto
300 specs wont work, its not a 300, the swept volume and air draft is all wrong
Careful going that road

November 9, 2010 at 3:34 am #190375Layman terms, (cause I am at work  ) a piston going up and down draws a certain amount of air into the cylinder, bigger the piston more air. If you jet for a 300cc cylinder against a 249cc you wont have the correct air fuel ratio because you dont have the same amount of air thus you air fuel ratio would be wrong
It would run but I would think from fiddling with Chris’s when I kitted his to a 300 it wouldnt be any good. I could be wrong, I only said be careful

If chris’s has been taken to a 300 no probs. The 250 was a sleeved down 300 to start with.
The two links in my earlier post are mods done to the same 250s/300 bike – the engine changed in 08 but I think eagles is 04 which is the same. I did the majority of the so called free mods to my old 300 and it was certainly a different bike to when I first got it.
From memory I did
staintune header
crank case breather
tm33 taken out to tm34 pumper/before swap over i did dynojet kit, drilled air hole, cut spring(instructions in Kit)
Dynojet kit P8 needle,125 main,
no airbox lid
removed muffler restrictions
fork springs .44
peg extenders
braided brake linescheers hatto
November 9, 2010 at 6:12 am #190377With the new exhaust I would trial the standard needle first as from experience the new exhaust will only really affect the main jet (ie need to go up)and you will also need to open the box up as mentioned earlier. certainly looks the goods though eags at least 20KM’s faster

November 21, 2010 at 4:57 am #190356With a bit of Shed Time this arvo & the help of another good mate, I acquired a nice bit of GYTR Stainless exhaust that had been cut off during a graft of an exhaust to another bike
Low & behold, with a bit of tinkering it fits to the Kwaka`s header & makes the job that much closer to completion
Got the two hooked together
Made a little bracket to attach to the existing rear footpeg mount
Then gave the header pipe a bit of a cleanup (it looked crap with the staino pipe)
So now all that needs to be done is the jetting,,,
I need to wear earplugs at all times when riding now,,, even to work I think :silly: :laugh:November 21, 2010 at 5:36 am #191107Good!!!!now get you and your bike to coffs
