Meet Theo at 7.30am at Bull and Bush Hotel at Baulkham Hills Sunday morning at 7.30 for a ride to Wollombi Pub (via Bilpin, Putty, Upper Colo, Howes Vally Wollombi) then down into Watagan’s. I knew it was going to be a big day as my last experience riding to Wollombi with TB we didn’t get there till 3pm.

Anyway day started with a fang up the Bell Lines Rd at Kurrajong when a cop car going in the other direction decided we needed to talk. He must have flew to catch up… So he pulls Theo over and I come up behind .. got of my bike and got a stern talking to “I don’t want you…. its him I want”… well a girl doesn’t want to hear that from a man at that time of day…He wanted to cover off two things with Theo…. immediately I thought breath test and speeding…. but funnily enough… it was breath test and wanting to check out the Tenere cause he was thinking of buying one….. The next thing he talks about…. it this bloke called TB -Trailboss – Greg who has offered him his Tenere to test ride…… YES TB you are well known by the cops in the area…..Theo left his wallet at home but the copper let him off with a warning…

    Busted!!

Got the royal treatment with flashing lights!!
    P1020635.jpg
Discussing suspension… even the seat came off with a looksie underneath.
    P1020637.jpg

After sucking up to the copper we eventually left and headed into the bush… came across a locked gate but with some effort and a bloke who turned up on his trailbike we got to walk the bikes around the steel fence. The dirt road was flowing nicely and we came out at Bilpin Fruit Bowl… then down to Putty via Upper Colo and Mellong. Significant amount of logging occurring and the track was a real mess.

Stopped in at the new cafe and got told by a 5ft 3in South African women on a Aprilia Motard that I had a height problem…. Maybe she had a point when I got on her bike my feet were swinging in the air. But those South African get the point across quickly!!

Then off to Wollombi Pub. It’s going to be a long day via Howes Valley. This is where we met KFPanda on his BMW GX450. After a quick chat then Theo showed us how to get on a bike and fall over……. My stomach muscles are still sore from laughing.

    P1020645.jpg
Thanks to KFPanda for helping … I was too busy taking photo’s:

I decided to increase the pace a bit and the bike was dancing underneath me. I so love my Teknik suspension. We got to the pub at 2.30pm for a late lunch and drink before the slog home. We hit Letter A at 4pm and decided to have more fun so headed down to the Pines… turn right to Wyong then left down Prickly Pear road… that’s when the fun started again. This time I entertained Theo!!

    P1020651.jpg
I so needed a rest and found this lovely mud section for a little lie down!!
    P1020652.jpg
I’m such a dumb blonde… found the same hole as last time through here and decided to fall again.
    P1020656.jpg

It was lucky we came through this section as we found two blokes in their ute/trailer with 2 dirtbikes well and truly bogged.
    P1020657.jpg

We tried to help but couldn’t do much
    P1020659.jpg

We called them to say they were only 500m from the road so they kept digging. We tried a few properties asking for help but no one was available. Got a txt from the guys at 8.30pm to say they just got out….

We road last section of dirtroad in the dark and fanged it up the F3.

    So after 12hrs, 430km the outcome was……

    1. A shit load of fun with sore muscle’s from laughing too much
    2. One dirty Tenere
    P1020660.jpg
    3. One tied Theo
    P1020662.jpg
    4. One dirty XR400

His name was Sergent Breaden and his mate is an Old Bull but I forgot to ask who the bull was.

The boss and myself did a breakfast run to Kurrajong and passed this particular law enforcer about 200m before I turned into Kurrajong at 9:30. He came from the oppisite direction down Bells and appeared very interested in my LED running lights. I think we can safely say that we have another Tenere owner waiting in the wings!

I just hope that said officer realises that buying and then modifying a Tenere is a bit like catching an incurable desease (in a good way) ;)

    Cheers, TT

Probably me. Unless he knows some other Old Bulls! Can recommend him. He’s a decent bloke. Even for a tyre-biter!
