AnonymousI didn’t even realise it was Tyne!
Had an absolutely awesome long weekend of riding and had a ball with a top bunch of blokes. We manged 29 riders on the Saturday and other than a drowned bike eveything went and was superbly organised.
If you ever want a top ride and awesome trails the Wuachope boys have plenty to show you.
I’ll do a report as soon as I get the chance.
For the minute though a massive thanks to all for turning up and Mick/Riderx in particular. Top effort boys on a job well done

March 8, 2009 at 7:54 pm #125092Who’s stupid idea was it to ride for three days???? It is Monday Morning and all the little sore bits have joined forces and become one big sore bit. :S
March 8, 2009 at 8:43 pm #125093A short report from Sundays Ride.
Woke up on Sunday with a few aches and pains and feeling every bit of my 44 years.
RiderX had organised a special ride for those that were still keen, Ray, one of the local trail legends was to take us on a tour of his special trails over at Bonny Hills. Ray Has been riding these trails for 35 or more years and he certainly knows his way around. He just kept on linking one sweet trail to the next and gave us a fair work out.
The first place he took us to is called Old Bottlebutt ,an awesome big tree in the bush just out of Wauchope.
Here are the pics I took there.
The trails Ray led us through were mainly flowing rain forest single trail that were a pleasure to ride and all of a sudden he threw a tricky hill climb at us.
I rounded the corner,to be greeted with a rather steep shaley hill with rock step ups and rutts. The bit that concerned me most was, there were blokes from our group coming back down the hill after failing to make it on their first run at the hill and they were all younger than me on state of the art bikes and here is me on 140kg of steel framed XR. To my relief the XR picked a good line and I just hung on until she got us both to the top.
Here is RC Honda on his 2nd attempt at the hill.Pics don’t do justice to how steep and Gnarly this section was. It was no doubt the hardest section of the whole weekend.
It didn’t quite go to plan for him.
He got there in the End,even though the buster stuffed his ankle and he had to retire soon after.
Ray lead us on a heap more awesome trails, some I had done before and some I want to do again and a ton that I had no idea they were there. From there we headed over to the Hastings Valley Motorcycle raceway to watch the Aussie offroad championships for a while.
A quick shortcut through Cowarra from there put us back near the Brecken ridge Farmstay so the boys could pack up and make the long drive home.
A special mention must go to White Rockets effort,he rode hard all weekend and then loaded up his big gear bag, strapped it to his back and he rode the big Kato back to Taree along th e Highway.
Thanks must go to Ray for the ride it was great,I cant wait to get out there when I am fresh and not the day after a RiderX boot camp.March 8, 2009 at 9:31 pm #125096Good job fellers looks like a great weekend was had by all i missed out again
but hope to be back in the saddle with you blokes soon:kiss: but i am on a secret mission so when im finished I’LL BE BACK;)

AnonymousNice pics Mick. That was the bottom part of the hill. The hard bit with the rock ledges was further up.
I’ve actually pulled up okay today. I have a few muscles that are sore but not as bad as I thought. At the AORC yesterday though my body was starting to sieze up!

Is that when Merriman and Hollis got around you?
How lucky were we with the weather? It is pelting down rain here this morning.

Looks like you guys needed the lads looking after us on our ride with their chainsaw:unsure: . I think I would have turned back if I seen that mess ahead 😆 . Looks great as all ride areas do and good to hear you had a ball, thats what its all about. I am feeling one day of just over 100kms of riding so three days would have me still in bed unable to move:blink:. Good report and pics.
March 8, 2009 at 10:42 pm #125099Well after some mucking around KTM01 and I arrived at Wauchope in time for a counter lunch with Mick on Thursday arvo, we then went around to Mick’s shed and cut some trouble until he had enough and came home form work, we did pull Trippers new XR to pieces to confirm the noise as worn cam and rockers
We had some beers / Rums and talked crap until Moto and Matt turned up and decided they didn’t to go riding in their new riding gear,
Matt also showed of his new no flow radiators, you cant buy these but Matt can modify yours
Moto then spoke with the local constabulary as to why 4th gear wheel stands are not the go on the local roads
We hung in the shed, Lisa made some smick roast beef and gravy rolls for lunch, Boulder and Holeshot turned up and we drank some more and talked more crap.
Next morning after waiting for what seemed like forever (9.30 Start) and Mick up at 5.30?? Get a life!!! We left and got started on the dual sport ride,
we rode out through Beech wood and out to the big bridge in the photo,
some wheelies and some more wheelies and on to Long Flat where we fueled,
After this we left the black top and travel up a fun trail where Mattie decided to show Moto some correct riding form and techniques by kicking his arse as per the photo.
So we ended up at Ellenborough Falls for a few pictures and to watch Mattie’s pick up form with some poor back packer lol
Moto didnt have a stand and had to park on his own
We then rode down to Comboyne for some fuel and then some sweet single trail home via rutzilla, which it its worth mentioning Moto rode up
White Rocket ran out of teeth on his front sprocket and bolted for town and got all the bits to fix it, I did some tyre changes for Mick, Strucky and myself, Mick drove to the airport and picked up Crash, we did some air filters adjusted chains, I changed gearing and we washed the XR’s for boot camp Saturday Morning.
We went to the club and had some dinner, again we watched Mattie’s pick up lines in action, he tried the Chef at the bistro this time, very nice lass we all though was young, turns out she was nearly 40!
Next morning we assembled at the farm stay did the speeches etc and left for boot camp,
and straight into the single trail, I was hanging onto the back of X and I had arm pump and was sweating like a pig, but had a huge grin, how good was this.I stopped at the first water crossing to take some pictures
I started working my way back to the front for the next photo session, I had got back to X and we left on an uphill trail, I hit a windrow in 3rd gear going fairly hard and when I landed it felt as though my foot slipped from the peg, which for a split second I thought was strange as I have pivot pegz and your feet never slip of those suckers, I tried to put my foot back but it had snapped the bolts for the peg mount of in the frame!
I ran back down the track located the peg, told crash to let X know hat had happened and I was going back to town to drill the bolts out. I found Moose and asked which way to town and he said Mick had bent his right side foot peg (mine was right side as well) and had headed to town to fix his as well. Mick had crashed on as uphill and bent his right in front of Ollie the demented laughing hyena.Once back in town after a lot of work and broken tools we got the XR going, Mick had repaired his at a mates shop going into town and was ready to head back when I blasted past heading for his place, he thought I had come back for him, as if ! Anyways he helped me fix mine and lead us back out to lunch break to meet the guys.
After the great lunch organised my missus X we quickly got back into the bush and stopped at the fuel dump. X had hidden fuel in the bush so we could all fuel which we did and continued, uphill and down dale.
I tailed Ollie for a while and couldn’t find a nice way around him, he had a big rear wheel slide in front of my that had him at 90degrees to me I thought I was about to centre punch him but he gathered it up, but then after the slide I knew he had no rear end grip and we kept at it finally on a big long hill with more Michelin grip I got past. The 300 Gas Gas has some serious poke and went well all day straight from a major tear down which was great and a big relieve for Ollie I am sure, good job mate.
I took some photos on a hill
We did X’s log crossing that had both bananas head over heals lol. As we turned for home the trail riding pace sort of heated up somewhat, at one stage I caught a group of about 5 guys and was looking for a way around on this single trail when we started going faster and faster we came out of the single line at one stage, as Matty said 6 bikes all in the space for 3 looking for a way around, when we joined the road at an angle Matt and Moto sat on their bikes doing corning man and got to witness us all on the gas hard, poor bastards got filled in but I bet it looked great.
Mick Crash and I broke of from the group and headed back to Mick’s to park the bikes, have a swim and drive the car out for snacks, beers and talk s*#t.
It was a funny afternoon, Barry and the barrow and the beers, we sold all the stubby holders etc that we took, if you want any promo gear just PM me and I will organise it for you
I thanked everyone concerned in the opening post of this thread and thanks again to all those people
TB

Mate that was a ballsy effort to ride all three days, strap your gear bag to your back and ride another 70km on the Pacific Highway on a Kato530. It was a pleasure to ride with you again Rocket.
March 9, 2009 at 9:57 am #125170Well Boys another great warchoppy ride. This time my bike made it all the way without making weird noises:laugh:
Thanks To Rider X Mick Moose Ash Toby Chris and the rest of the guys involved in Saturdays bootcamp it was hard yakka and the spa at the end of the day certainly was a welcome sight. A big thanks also to luke (gasit)and his wife for getting me a set of front wheel bearings for my bike, thankfully I didnt need to replace them, I was to rooted anyway!
A big thanks to the Boys involved with the ride to bonny hills on Sunday, some awesome single trail there fella’s only wish I wasnt so wrecked from the day before,I would love to travel out that way again sometime for sure! It was good to see that most of the older fella’s went straight up that snotty hill and the young bucks struggled you cant beat experience!Highlights for the weekend from my perspective were:
Getting my bike finally together on late Friday arvo
Seeing nearly 30 bikes in single file heading down the road
Some of the creek crossings were awsome
Phone Hill (steeeeep downhill)
Mick crashing big time in front of me
TB heading back to town at the same time as mick with similar problems WTF!
racing 4 bikes in the tight single trail right up every ones clacker
The Front end slide at speed with TB chasing me and managing to save it (threw my undies out after that)
The massive hill climbs
The feed and beers back at the farmstay awsome!(thanks x)
Getting to ride Matts and Moto’s KTM’s the seats on them are plusho compared to the gasser.
My arse was red raw and I made the comment on a few occassions that I thought It had gone ten rounds with Ian Roberts:S
The generous efforts of the boys who contributed to X’s pivot pegz, well deserved mate I know what is involved with setting out one of these rides.
Seeing that huge Bloodwood tree,wow!
White rocket on the big Kato 530 who rode to Taree with a huge back pack on the blacktop:blink:
Crash for his superstar arrival and departure at the airport his luggage was a new tyre LMFAO
Lastly TB and Chris for setting up this website and bringing like minded people together, an organised ride like this would easily set you back $400Thanks boys great weekend
