Has anyone used a throttle and if so what are they like?

A throttle lock allows you to rest your right hand on long adventure type rides.

I used a throttle rocker once, and I dodged one that had been thrown from the bike

A mate has a lock on his CBR and reckons its good, TB and myself rode from Broken Hill to Trangie on the tar and I would have loved one then.

I’ve used one on my brother’s KTM990 I had here for a while, I can see the benefits of having one.

I found the throttle rocker I had on my Tenere was useless , it got in the way off road and wasn’t very effective on road.

Are you asking about throttle rockers or locks?

I had one on my hayabusa and did a trip from Rockhampton to sydney in two days and would recommend it for sure. But I would say only use it on open stuff as soon as there was a bit of traffic around i would turn it off.

Am setting up for a trip to Birdsville and I thought it might be worth a try. There will no doubt be a few long straight runs.
They are about $22 on eBay.
    Thanks for the input.

    Hi All,
I ride a Tiger 800XC and use a throttle lock on long rides (similar to a “Go Cruise”) it only takes a few seconds fit and remove is very cheap and works well enough to allow you to take your right hand off the throttle for a enough time to stretch and relax without stopping. There are some disadvantages though, it does take a bit of room on the grip and is really only effective on flat ground to maintain an even speed. I have used it on a ride to Cairns and a ride through Victoria but ideally I would love to have a full on cruise control.

    I hope this helps.

i mentioned the throttle rockers sorry, i knew you were talking about throttle locks, just mentioned the rockers incase you were thinking about them as an alternative to the locks.
For $22 i would say give it a go.
