Anonymouswhat mods could you do to a bike that already has all the best gear?
put the best rider on it. that is where tms fall short. certainly true in my case

AnonymousValuable post Champo. Shall we sticky this one for all prospective TM owners?
November 23, 2008 at 7:13 pm #112717You can look at my Beemer for the answer;
Hand guards, bash plate and radiator protection (not many bikes come with all 3)
Then add 3M clear protection to all the damage areas of the plastics/metal to stop the scuffs & scratches.
Head light protector?Oh and what about all those important anodised things like valve caps and fuel tank cap etc? You might need them too.
November 23, 2008 at 7:38 pm #112874Maybe a couple of Honda stickers???

AnonymousBetter watch out wikedbeemer, you are starting to sound like the typical beemer owners that do laps around nobby’s beach on Sunday afternoons while i’m trying to get to the surf.
i think i kind-a agree with mick.
if bmw made a trapping valve 2-stroke bike, excluded all the accessories, bling, electronic control, battery, history, condescending attitude, and striped it down to a dirt bike and put a kick starter on it. kept all the clever stuff that others should be doing such as coaxial counter shaft and swing arm pivot, etc. i would buy one and even resist the urge to put honda stickers over the bmw stickers.
if you look at the past bikes i have owned (rego cr, rego yz, xr, tm) i think this is what i like in a dirt bike.November 23, 2008 at 8:18 pm #112876Another thing that will make your TM go like the clappers is some OLDBull front guard stickers!!
November 23, 2008 at 8:46 pm #112879
Anonymousmore bling
November 24, 2008 at 12:54 am #112880TM 2Ts need nothing else the buggers hammer, absolute screamer motors (the 300 is scarier than an open classer 500 IMHO) handle, steer (bit light in the front for me, but i reckon I could get used to it) stop and are light, and are a lovely shade of blue what more could you wish for.
Blue lover

AnonymousYeah Champo still needs to let me have a go of the blue machine. I promise I won’t crash it
Think of the fun you’d have on the 450 Champo, I’ll even have brand new rubber and brake pads in for the weekend

AnonymousDon’t take it to heart WikdBeemer. Everyone has a dig at each other round here, when writing things on a forum or email or whatever they easily be read the wrong way. Champo is about as laid back as they come. You’d have to be to be a TAFE teacher :p

Oh I have done teaching for TAFE but I dont fit that stereotypical kind of personality very well so I chucked it inNovember 25, 2008 at 11:09 pm #113111
Anonymousto tell the truth, if i bought a 4 stroke, it would be a beemer or a berg. not a tm

AnonymousNo worries mate.
Anyway, back on topic. Mods for the TM, what do we all think about the new front forks supplied for latest model TM’s? I don’t like the colour for a start. Will the Zocchi’s work as good…..
November 26, 2008 at 1:10 am #113114
AnonymousOne of the reasons I didn’t buy a new one was because of the forks. Apparently since the ohlins family took back control of the company they stopped making off road forks and now make internals to fit other brands.
Therefore tm can’t get ohlins forks
As the prophecy predicts
