To Roost or Not to Roost, therein lays the dilema. What or if any, are the rules and accepted guide lines to roosting your ride buddy? Do you just Fill em in when opportunity arises…or is it the given thing to be respectable and be polite about how many and what size rocks/sand/Mud, you hand out? Is there a P.C. approach to this?

I think the general rule is when its the right time and place its fair game, like when you are moving is good, and also when there is mud is good, both are fine times.

Yeah, I’ve suffered the “Oops, i have stalled it on the Mud flats” Fill in sydrome when much younger riding with a large group of friends. No leccy leg on the thumpers then either..What with all the MUD around here…is there a line? we are meant to be older after all??.

there is a group of blokes from syd i have ridden with and they love to roost each other and take it as good fun (even rotting sheep carcas is ok) a difernt group i ride with seem to take grate offence at any thing flying there way so it depends on the group of blokes but after a long ride it can get tiresome after the 20th time for that hr

On Sunday I was behind 3 late model 450s’ with new tyres on a freshley graded gravel road, now eventually I rounded them all up but I have left & right pectorals with rock grazes and bruising, small lacerations on my stomach, upper legs copped a bit and a medium rock got between my chin/mouthpiece & googles which gave me a fat lip, so I guess those blokes thought it was fair play.

Funny thing was when the little smoker rounded them up mid corner they didn’t seem to hang on its’ tail for long…could it be the new 956 and sudden hit onto the pipe at 80 ks out of corners feet up drifts with 40′ roostertail spraying was a problem………..

I try not to roost people where possible (unless messing around). That said, when I’m on it it’s fair game as far as I’m concerned. If you’re right up my arse and getting roosted, deal with it!

Sometimes you get a bit of collateral damage though….sorry Tiny! :(

Not a huge fan of roosting, either as roost-er or roost-ee! Copped a few good rocks in the past so tend to avoid that as much as I can! I’m just not that hardcore I suppose! Whenever I fill someone else in it usually leads to a worse fill-in for me down the track!

It is considered “Standard racing practice” unfortunately I don’t race standards, but usually it is accidental in nature.

RiderX’s effort at roosting you Moto at the Xmas party is one of the funniest things I have seen in quite some time. That is karma at its finest.

I learnt my lesson when I was on the 530 and roosted Tripper and smashed the headlight on the bike. Trouble was, he was riding …………MY XR!!!!!! What a goose roosting your own bike.

No way…..i was just wondering? LOL…I bypass many an opportunity with my rig…believe me. Where we ride, i wouldnt entertain it “Sirdropalot” as there is TOO big a chance of being Drilled by a fist+ size rock :) ..and your tyre didnt have enough track left on it to spit anything anyway..:)) No..its all good. Just curious? and no..you dont gotta worry about dodging rocks either.

That was funny shit! I remeber standing there watching this grand finale and him throwing the bike away! I never laughed so hard. No wait, I did laugh that hard when Moose threw the XR over that log on Boulder Hill :laugh::laugh::laugh:
