OK heres goes…My son tim and i got up early 6.00 and loaded up the bikes my yz 426 and his yz250 2t and off we go to the tokoroa sawdust pit, about a hour away from hamilton, the sawdust pit is a huge mountain of saw dust thats been shaped into a sort of mx track come trail ride, it backs onto the forrest which is full of single track and forestry roads and we were luckyit had been dry for about a week, we get there unload and settle into some riding on the sawdust track its not to bad as some other bikes have flattened out the place from the previous weeks, it still has some whoops and a couple of small climbs.
Oh yeah did i say it was hot ..well after a while we go back to the car for a break and a drink and pee stop we then decide to take off our bodyarmour it just to hot ….big mistake… ok after the break we head off into the forest, first up we come to some mud and in my haste to follow tim through i am to close and as we sink up to our axles
the 250 rapidly slows and unfortunatly im in the same rut so i have to stop….instant ..sink..go to put my foot out it sinks ..and i arse off much to the joy of son who’s pissing himself laughing, after we get it out its on to the tight single track, heres where tims 250 comes into its own and he kicks my arse in the tight twisty bits its pretty dry with the odd tree route thrown in ,i com out onto a disused logging track nice long straught gravely dirt road, son is waiting for me
mumbling something about slow old bugger,ok i think to myself theres know way you are gonna get past me on this… we line up and take off…now this was no ordinary take off this was my elbows up you aint gettin past me take off.. i look to see his front wheel drop back im crankin the 426 for all shes worth the sound in deafening in the narrow forrest road, i dont know how fast i was going but she was tapped out in 4th and as i changed to 5th i started to get tunnel vission as the trees on either side shot by.. then on with the brakes as the first corner looms after a couple more corners and another straught i slow down turn around … and low and behold no tim ..i wait for a while .. still no tim so i turn around and head back to almost where we startedto find him clutching his shoulder, did ya fall off i say, no he says,
a bloody great rock the size of a tennis ball came shooting out your spinning back tyre and almost knocked me off my bike,
nice bruise i say .. what a pussy, come on lets go we head off in to the forrest at a rather sedate rate this time until sometime later we come to the end of the road and turn around…ok you lead going back i say
knowing dam well he’s gonna just take off
so i let him get about a bikes length ahead
and as we come around a corner he nails it ..but i was ready and my evil plan was to shoot down the inside of him .. but what i didnt count on was how slippery my side of the track was he has this HUGE roost coming of his rear tyre aimed directly at my chest
i take it in the chest just like someone has shot me with a machine gun…oooouuuuucccchhhh.. shit ive got no body armour on …….well when i finally pull up to a stop behind him all i hear is ….you pussy..about time you brought a real bike…i didnt tell him ..that his bike shoots out rocks like a frigging gattling gun… so ive learnt my lesson on body armour.Another hours uneventful riding and i had had enough so it was time to drag my old battered and bruised body home…..oohhh to be young againJanuary 11, 2009 at 7:00 pm #117854lol, the old take to armor of trick cause its to hot eh? Ask Tiny about no armor at the Christmas Party, looks like he had been shot by a shot gun full of buck shot lol
I copped one on saturday that came out of the side of Champo’s tyre, hit that hard sent my arm numb for 10mins, and I armor on, but hit in the part where there is no farking armor, where the rocks are trained to hit!
Nice ride reportTB
