Hello TB,

It was good to see you at Walcha, I am sorry I did not get the chance to talk, I seemed to need to sleep early on both nights. I was wanting to chew your ears about carby jetting for XR 600[fitted with FCR 41MX].

I am glad the bulls enjoyed the riding, I sure did. Many thanks to John Liddel for leading us and Annette[and others] for sweeping. Additional thanks to all the riders, it was a good bunch of people with good humor, coming together for what we all enjoy best.

Cheers
Scott

What a great weekend, it was good to meet up with a couple of the bulls and meet some new Adv riders. It is an awesome sight to be overtaken by those big Kato 990’s and 950’s and see how those blokes can handle them! Hats off. :woohoo:

A bit chilly on the first morning but we soon warmed up and got into it. :S

There was some awesome scenery around the Barrington and Barry station areas. Some of the best country to ride in i reckon(Sorry about the Beema in the way of the pretty scenery).

Some pretty tricky riding for me with the majority of it being like riding on marbles. My fear of water crossing has been somewhat overcome and i was disappointed to see the end of them.

Cock Rock was…um…interesting and i think we all left there feeling a little ‘insignificant’???

All in all i think we rode about 450Klm on the first day and there were no bike issues amongst the group. I can’t recall the names but there was one guy who came unstuck with a roo on the way in on Friday and smashed himself up pretty badly. Also another rider had an off and damaged some ribs which saw him pull out. I hope you guys recover quickly and get back on the bikes soon.

Big night on the Saturday with TB, Strucky, PTW and some others and Chris kept us all amused with his antics! ;)

Hopefully some money was raised to help go towards motor nurone disease and the formalities helped us to remember the major contribution Tony Kirby made to the sport.

Thanks to the organisers of the ride. I have already put it in the calender for next year.

;)

What a great night at TK memorial dinner

My day started with a phone call from PTW about running up the mountian togeather I said sound like a great plan.

We meet at Wauchope and off we went, we got to Long Flat where we meet TB and had a quick scooner.

Then the fun started with a fast run to Walcha before dark.

Got to the pub and the drinks started to flow for the night, with plenty of laughs with a great bunch of blokes.

It was great to see Boulder,Fish Mick p, Lotus , ACE and the new bloke Chris.

it was great to see a lot of people turn up for TK and keep his sprit alive, and hopefully raise some coin for Motor Nurone Disease.

Thanks to PTW, TB ACE and Chris for the all the fun at the bar.

TB and PTW thanks for the company up the mountain

Cheers

Had been hanging for this ride to come around. I had put together a route and was going to meet Boulder, Yakka, fish and their boys at Windsor for huge ride to Walcha. Plan was a 6am start from Windsor, the others were there about 5 past and by the time we got pies and coffees we got away about 6.30.

Oh yeah it was cold

From there we ran out the putty rd to the actual putty turn off. We ran out through 3ways, raspberry junction and to kings cross junction to join the commission track. By the time we got there both the young bulls had taken dirt samples. I also realised that we maybe had to many peeps to do the full plotted route to Walcha and we were going o run out of time. When we fueled at Jerry’s Plains I mentioned to Boulder we needed to cut the next section from Singleton around Eagle hill and add lib the run to Moonan Flat.

Once there we had lunch, I had an awesome pub burger and i just put Walcha short route off road in the GPS and away we went up through Barry Station and the 20 creek crossings. Barry station is a cracker route a must do track. We scouted around Nundle and after checking out some of Snowys secret singles when I tried a short cut we got back on track and arrived at Walcha just on dark 470 odd klms later. Straight into the pubs for a ale. Soon enough we caught up with Lotsa, llewsdaert and Mickp. The beers started flowing and ACE turned up we got our accommodation sorted and tucked into a curry.

More soon

I cant believe its been a year since we had the first TK ride time sure flies!!
Well this years ride was held in Walcha and we traveled through some really great country with scenery to die for and a big thanks must go to John Lidell for taking us on some great dirt roads and tracks and even getting us in late in the dark in true TK fashion.
It was a good social weekend with a few drinks and some good bench racing as always.
Nice to see Old Bulls was represented so well and thanks guys for making the effort to get up there and help make it a success.
Phil Gill is back at home and although his knee was badly smashed up they managed to put him back together, he was lucky because his ligaments were not too badly damaged and this made the surgeons job a bit easier, it will take a while for fabulous Phil to recover but he will be there for the TK ride next year fingers crossed.
Thanks to TB for leading us up to Walcha and taking us on some awesome tracks.
Every time I swing my leg over my bike I think of TK , he had such a big influence on me and taught me so much and this weekend was a true tribute to him. Pebbles and I had a ball and cant wait for next year. Thanks again to all involved.

If you had have seen TB in the bar Saturday at Midnight having his sixth night cap ( after about 27 tweenies :woohoo: ) and chin wagging with Craig Hartley and co like I did you’d understand why he looked like shit on Sunday ;) . I’d say he drank as well as he talked , and you all know how he can talk . . Pete the Wulf would have been feeling pretty average Sunday too , he was dooing a fair amount of celebrating the joining of the Adventure bike riding ranks . ;)

On a serious note, it was good to hear about TK and what a great guy he was, he had a massive impact on a lot of people and he definatley was a well loved and well respected man. If we can strive to be half the man he was, we would be doing alright. Thanks to all involved

Thanks to Strucky for a top ride over to walcha, thanks to TB for the top ride back mate, I had great ride.

Yes, it was a great weekend with perfect weather.

It was good to catch up again with a lot of old faces and make new aquaintances.
TK is sadly missed by many and it just reinforces the fact you need to get out and enjoy yourself while you are still able. You never know whats around the corner

I saw TB eyeing off these handguards, he might have some fitted to the Ten soon as he misses his poka dot jersey
