May 6, 2013 at 4:38 am #240840I have received plenty of OK messages
They were doing the Dig Tree and a few other things today, so that may be the in and out backtracking a bit  There was only just over 400k on the route planned today anyway, so time for a bit of sightseeing maybe..I actually have been flat stick at work today and only looked on the I Pad every couple of hours to check progress, plenty of OK messages mean all good though
They are booked in at Innamincka Hotel for tonite , lets see if they can make that before dark !!!!

micknmeld wrote:Just looking at Strucky and Ace’s last hour on the tracker, it seems that they are trying to make a wacky pattern with their spot tracker plotting. They have been exactly on route all day, they had to go into Noccundra to get fuel. Eags you should have known that  they will also back track out of the dig tree 11kms
Actually looking at the spot I thought they may have been further on than they are today but they will be right? They should camp at he dig tree and get into Innamincka in the morning
you haven’t got to make your destination every night.

I planned their last two days short to allow for the dig tree etc ( and to rest them before we hook them up and drag them through SA  joking  ) bit over 400 today easy fast running. Tomorrow they only have less than 250.
We will do Walkers Crossing tomorrow, we will leave here very early tomorrow morning to beat the unseasonable heat

May 6, 2013 at 10:08 am #241255Howdy OBTers,
Been having a brilliant trip. This morning we had Big Red all to ourselves. The beginning of the Simpson looks an amazing, beautiful and unforgiving place. The colours are amazing. It was exhilarating punching the bike up & down that big sandhill. To see all of this and the channel country with my own eyes over the past 4 days has been a dream come true. And what’s better – I’ll be seeing many more places I’ve always wanted to see (since I was a kid watching the Leyland Brothers) before next weekend.Latest scoop – we’ll be leaving very early in the morning for Camerons’ Corner. We’ve decided to go down the Birdsville Track & take the recently re-opened Walkers Crossing route. This track has been closed for 4 or more years, so we thought – what the……. , lets do it!
We have some great footage & photos to bring home.
Catch you all later
