Any opinions on the Triumph XC800?

I’m thinking of trading my 09 Wee on a low k’s XC.

Do the XC’s have any known issues?

It seems they have better ground clearance and may be better on the dirt with the 21″ front wheel while still blasting along the highways covering long distance.

I’m still going around in circles looking for the “middle ground” between long distance tar touring and dirt capability.

On out recent High country ride Lance from Trailzone was on the Triumph and made it look very capable in the dirt. We did some technical riding and he was all over it. We talked about the power : traction as I was on the BMW F 800 GS and found it would easily get out of shape with too much throttle on the hard pack where the Tenere is more manageable. We both agreed that a very steady throttle and correct body position was essential to maintain good speed through corners.
Lance had just finished a project BMW 800 and said the Triumph was a better dirt bike , as for the tar he’s said the ride from Sydney to Gunning was comfortable.

The other plus is they sound like a bloody jet taking off :woohoo:
