Well the time has come and the Trailzone Victorian High Country Ride is about to begin. Unfortunately I had to withdraw due to work commitments, however i went around to TB’s and had a beer with Dejay, Nickj and TB. The boys are all prepared and are raring to go. Nickj was cooking a “Curry” for dinner and it ended up a little catastrophe in Sal’s kitchen. Oops! But I think it was sorted before I left.
I will be travelling with the boys tomorrow for the start down at Windsor on the final run-in ride on Chickens’ XR630 (Thanks Chicken but TB said it would be OK. )
Anyway I took a few shots before the start at TB’sDejay’s New Screen (No. 3 I think? )
TB’s New Stone Thrower
TB’s New Water Proof GPS Cover
TB, Nickj and Dejay all geared up and ready to Ride
Have a safe ride everyone and I will catch up tomorrow with most of you at the start.
Cheers,

OK, 50km’s into the trip and Nickj’s Tenere is being loaded onto a ute, diagnosed with terminal clutch issues (makes a wild noise when the clutch is pulled in), at this very moment they are loading all Nick’s gear onto Steve from Adventure Motos BMW800, so the journey can continue.
More updates as they become available.

That’s a bit of bad luck for nick, we all know how particular he is with maintainence, just goes to show they can all break down. Let’s hope that’s the only hicup

I thought there were dramas of some kind
They hadn`t gone far for 6 hrs :unsure:January 23, 2012 at 7:04 pm #214974Well I picked up Nickj’s Tenere from Barrett’s (Nice bloke Jason Barrett great products too!) at Bilpin to diagnose and repair the clutch issue. The boys kindly pulled it apart and left me with a dead Ten and a bag full of clutch parts.   I got it back to the workshop, found a maintenance manual and proceeded to diagnose what went wrong and look to see if I had to order any parts. I found all the parts were ok and nothing was missing or needed replacing on the big Ten, so I re-oiled the clutch plates installed the pressure plate & re-torqued, installed the clutch cover and fired her up. I have just completed around 12-15km and all is perfect. One thing that i did find is that when I checked the oil it did not register on the dip stick  . I think this may be a bit of an issue with the clutch or the release bearing running dry. But all seems ok now.
