Transplanted KLX250

Hi, I’m in Princes Hill, Melbourne, ex-Perth. Didn’t start riding offroad until I was nearly 40 but loved it despite some spectacular ‘comedy dismounts’. I started with an XT250 – I ‘outgrew’ it but still have huge respect for the little goat! The ’04 KLX is undergoing surgery to remove some of the excess furniture and to firm up the front end a little (I’ve got a stapler that needs more of a shove). And, of course, more power. I’ll search the site a bit more before asking questions! Cheers.

Woo Hoo, another KLX, just made my day.. I’m full of info so if you need anything let me know, you can see what I have done to mine in the kawasaki mods section.. (will need to update shortly as have some special mods to add). I replied to you over at TT, so thanks for Joining up.. My KLX is an ’07 but from what I can see there is not too many differences as it hasn’t really changed much.. Also got the service manual if you need anything. Lastly you gotta post some pics, the more green the better.

BTW 2 neurofen before ride, 2 after ride mixed with alcohol always does the trick..

Thanks Chris, I’ll be taking you up on that! I think I can see what yours had for breakfast up that Staintune – mine’s still wearing the 20 kilo kazoo… Straight off the bat, do you reckon a KDX speedo would work? Waiting for a legal/cheap/light clock before I put the Acerbis light on. Will check out TT… Happy to see some green, myself!
