Well it started as a shocker for me :(

I realized about 4 k’s from the Pines that I didn’t have my riding pants, knee guards and jersey :(

Then 500m from the parking area there’s road works  Murph and dude pull up behind me and I give them the news  :pinch:

Anyway I thought I’d chat with the guys till they rode off :)

Al to the rescue :woohoo: He had some wet weather pants, fluoro green, matched my complexion perfectly

So off we go and not 2 mins in and still on the main trail Mitch stops  missing a bolt from his front calliper

Al to the rescue again :cheer: he found the bolt about 50m back what a legend B)

We then rode nice tight tracks to the Basin and out the other side for some more :woohoo:

So for those of you that have been on one of Murph’s easy rides know, there not that easy and with Jeffro tiring and Mitch out of water I saw a window of opportunity (read I knew what was coming next  ) and offered to assist them back to the cars by fast track

It got me home by 2:30 and let me load the ute for work tomorrow at a more leisurely pace and with enough energy to do it

It was a top day and thanks to Murph for leading and Dude for sweeping, and the rest of the boys for a fun day :cheer:

    Adam.

thanx for the pics and report guys , love your reports murph, once im back up riding again im going to make it a goal to do heaps of hard yards ere this yr to try and make a trip over your way and do 1 of your easier runs which will still challage me none the less

Thanks to all who came and especially Murph and Dude for leading and sweeping.

It was some of the more challenging riding I have done for a long long time. I was really happy with the way I was riding until fatigue set in and I started making silly mistakes. Up until then I had managed to get over most obstacles with relative ease. Once the fatigue hit though I started to struggle on even the most basic of trails.

I think I hit the ground 5 or 6 times which is more than the last 12 months combined I think. The first one I hopped over a log and somehow my left foot ended up caught under the footpeg and of course thats is the way I fell. I hit the ground with the bike on top of me and the footpeg drove into my calf muscle which caused me to hobble around for the rest of the day and still this morning.

I also ducked under a tree that was across the track and failed to see the branck on the other side of it which I hit wioth my shoulder sending me crashing to the ground where I corked my left thigh. I got hit on my left shin a few times and copped a branch to the left eye so I was feeling pretty ordinary by the time I got home. I just shoved all the gear in the shed and broke out the ice packs for the rest of the afternoon.

I only got one helmet camera video before the battery went flat and that poor quality due to mist and dust on the lens, not to mention that it ended up hanging upside down after a couple of branches hit it. I got a couple with the hand held camera but again not good quality, I will try and make a silk purse out of what I have though.

A foggy start to the morning

I had some time to check out nature when Mitch lost the bolt from his front break caliper (very lucky to find it on the road)
