July 13, 2013 at 9:30 am #244845So King… what’s going on here?
I believe YOUR loyal subject TB should have carried you across and gone back for your steed!
Pray tell, why does brother TB mock you in relation to the parking of your machine?
July 13, 2013 at 10:52 pm #244846Well what a day.
TB was up on Friday night to pre run the next Nav ride, he said it would be good to get yourself use to the bike. What a understatement first 5mins we are in to a creek crossing then in to some really fast flowing tracks that was like riding at Blacktown ice skating rink.
Then come the turning around due to the track not going anywhere, I can tell you it is easier to back a B-Double in to a finger dock then turn this space ship around.
At this point I’m thinking it won’t be long and I will bin this on the ground then that’s out way who cares after you drop it the first time then it not new anymore.
The rest of the trip was the same all day very slippery in a lot of parts, as the downhill to the Amazon creek crossing.
I was at the top and said to TB is there room for me down there for me and said yes to the right of me,
So down I go back brake locks and I’m in gliding mode all I can see is that I’m about to slam in to the back of TB and push him straight in the very deep creek. :pinch:I laid the bike down and my back tyre just touch his how close was that. I then pick up the bike with the help of Tb and done some good old country parking angel style.
Then we push them through the creek which was not easy due to the big stone on the bottom and the ice cold water.
When standing in the creek knee deep and freezing I said to Tb thanks for a easy ride so I can get use to bike.
I can see why there is a lot of pre running done for these rides, we came across so many things yesterday. Deep creek crossing, tracks not there anymore, RTA closing roads , logs down,Gates locked, massive up hills, swamps.
Thanks TB for the day and this will be a great Nav ride guys and girls.
Cheers

King StruckySounds like you had fun Strucky
Wrong turns on a tight track with the tenere are a pain in the @#$% :pinch:
I have lost count how many times I have dropped my bike but they do crash well

July 13, 2013 at 11:46 pm #246011Mate like you said many a time yesterday there was no better way for you to get used to it. You said last night over a beer, you are now ride to ride it anywhere. It was better than you riding a few dirt roads  You can now ride that bike anywhere anytime and know what you can do on it.
It was after a big day and it was a big day that we only had one stop, we stopped at my mates business in Kempsey stood around out the front for 15mins (no freaken wonder we were hungry when we got home) The only other time we got off the bikes was to man handle trees down :pinch: Yes there were some turn arounds due to trees down but that happens all the time on per runs, roadworks messed with one track, the washed out bridge and crossing and finally hills getting to steep for the average punter on a loaded adventure bike. Honestly they don’t seem that steep on a 130kg trail bike :pinch: but how satisfying is it King on the big bikes. Hills were 2nd gear pinned and just holding it, it was wicked :woohoo:
Slippery was an understatement  decent rubber will be required. Next weekend I will try and get the remaining per run done with some help. Thus far the tracks have been all different but some great riding, some of the best we have done to date I reckon.
Wish we had taken a camera, this hills, that tree we broke up on the top of heart attack hill (named because of the tree down we broke up  ) it was a fantastic days riding with the King. Thanks for the accommodation see you next Friday night mateThis ride will be a cracker :woohoo:
