    Hi TB

Thanks for that. I chased up one mate, Bully, and I see he’s registered. My other mate Kurt is hard to contact but I’ve left him messages and emails. Hopefully you’ll hear from him soon.

Looking forward to the ride, see you in Lithgow.

Hi guys I’ve pulled out early to get a spot for someone else better prepared.

I bought a rear rack from B&B and made a right side support arm for my 5ltr rear tank but I’m not confidant that it will support the gear I was loading on it in a test ride.

I am mostly concerned that the rear tank would leak with the stress put on it from the rack and weight of my camp gear and the lack of tie down points annoyed me so I decided that I wouldn’t take the risk of a failure and compromise other riders fun.

A flat tyre is one thing I can fix in 10 minutes, but leaking fuel into luggage or a trail of gear left behind is another thing altogether so I made the decision to get better prepared with a more able bike for one of these rides.

I’m really disappointed but won’t risk other peoples before mine fun with a set up that I’m really not confident in, and more importantly I have realized that I simply need one more bike which is not so bad.. I just can’t decide between a DR650 or a Tenere660. The Husky Terra is looking possible too!?

Have a great ride guys i’ll be sore to miss it but am planning ahead for the Nav rides in earnest now..

    Hallo all,

    I’m after GPS map advice.

I have a Garmin Etrex legend HCx – currently on it is the OSM map of Australia. Is this the correct (or suitable) one to have for the ride? If not what should I have loaded / where do I get it / is there anything else a GPS novice should know or do before the ride?

Many thanks for any advice anyone can give.

    Martin :)

    Hi TB

As discussed myself and three mates would love to take part in this ride weekend if you can fit us in. I’ll get onto the boys to join and as soon as they have will confirm intentions. We’ll be on three DR650’s and a TTR600.

    Cheers Mate

The overnight stay on the Saturday night will be at Orange.

Because of the large number of riders we cant all fit in the one establishment and will need to spread around town a little as such.

Important tip: To have your maps for Sunday loaded you will need to come to the Hotel Orange at the cnr of Summer and Peisley Streets (324 Summer street) on Saturday evening between 6 and 9pm. Amy, Pete and I will be loading GPSs during that time, you will be able to grab yourself dinner and a drink and share some stories of your days adventure with the other riders. You will also be able to get the hints and riddles to locate the start for the next morning! All will be explained at the riders briefing on Friday night at the Commercial Hotel Motel Lithgow at 9pm ;)
