See how I go this time, done a few mods on the Tiger to try and prevent some damage, I figured that was easier than learning to ride!
I need to find a buddy if anyone can help.September 1, 2013 at 9:06 am #249091Ron wrote:Please put me in for this one thanks TB.

Until my wife changes my mind for me.
But then I’ll get tough and beg her to let me go with you…You’re the “swaggie”!
And you posted BEFORE Bucky?
Bucky?
Bucky?
Maybe Bucky’s having a lie down and a Bex? There’s no “80(00)m of sand” on this one Bucky… have you seen the tree Chuck couldn’t ride over? You’ll piss it in…

September 1, 2013 at 11:29 am #249106WOLFY.. “ARE WE LOST MATE!?”
TB.. “NAH, I’M NEVER LOST WOLFY! I ALWAYS KNOW WHERE I AM AND WHERE I WANT TO BE!! “
WOLFY.. “WHAT!? SO ITS JUST CONNECTING THE DOTS YOU SOMETIMES SEEM TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH TB??”
And so our pre-ride was in full swing and within less than an hour out of Lithgow, up behind the Hampton’s, we were riding like ADV warriors, taking trails that I would have blown past but the Trail Boss seems to be drawn into like a ferret down a rabbit hole. I had visions of my last birthday ride where TB led me into single track that left me broken and pathetic, but true to his word… “The punters will love this Wolfy”… the trails just got better and better and the Xt660z’s pushed onwards and sometimes upwards, over hill and down dale. Not to mention over logs, through puddles that would swallow a support truck and navigating through ruts that if I peered down I expected to see into the bowels of the earth and lava demons waiting to swallow me whole.
But really… I am truly amazed at how our fearless Trail Boss puts these rides together. So many times we followed a perfect trail for miles and miles only to be disappointed after an hour of riding, telling each other “This is GOLD”, when the trail became just too rough or with a locked gate or sleepy farm in our way, often with the road we were aiming for sticking its finger up at us barely a stones throw off in the distance. I suspect that for every 100kms of Nav ride you guys will tear up, TB has ridden 400-500kms of trail to put the ride together. Not only that, we find it, ride it, then ride it again and one more time for luck to ensure you guys have the best mix of trail any ADV rider could wish for.
The November/December Nav ride will see us foray into the “Million Acre Forest” up behind the Hamptons, towards Jenolan Caves and onwards to one of our favourite drinking holes, the Woodstock Hotel. Some of the trail we found around Oberon left me gobsmacked and at times giggling in my helmet like a schoolboy who just got his first kiss behind the tennis sheds. BLOODY AWESOME!! These are long ADV days and with summer on the way and daylight savings with us, I can’t wait to ride our next Nav ride from start to finish.
As usual, the ride on offer will be a mix of comfortable easy trail with splashings of moderate single track with some overgrown twin track for good measure. Also a dab of rocky decent and slick red clay to keep your sphincter muscle working overtime… A fantastic mix of ADV trail, just enough to tickle your comfort zone but never so hard that with care and determination you will be out of your depth. And as usual there will be support and advice on hand. However as always this is “Your Ride and Your Adventure” so you decide how to ride your ride.
Anyway hats off to TB and what a great privilege to ride with the Boss discovering how he puts these great rides together. The next time I hear someone say… “These are all public roads, I don’t need to join a group to enjoy those trails and have a great ride”… I’m going to punch him in the face, spit in his eye and say… “F*#k off dickhead, because you have no idea”.Cheers
