Hi Amy.. Well I am keen to get home and try this ride on my new Victory!? :P ;)

Actually I am looking forward to getting on a real bike and hitting the trails with TB and the gang. Clubby has just informed me he is back on for the ride and I also believe we may have some of the YMA crew with us. Hope the weather is kind to us.

Wow not only does the Wolfman post but he posts from the other side of the world

A large crew and I see Clubby is back on the list :woohoo:

Great read Amy, I’m glad you are OK after your stack. Concussion can play some strange tricks on your mind so you have done well to get back on the horse, so to speak.

The photo of that slippery clay rutted out track has me gibbering in front of the screen. I’ll have my outriggers out for that bit. Even so I can see a face plant or two in the mix for me, especially as some of the sections might be “challenging for the larger Adventure bikes”.

Wiggy there is nothing harder than anything you have done before. There is a hill that looms bad in the distance but isn’t, is it Amy :P every technical section can be ridden if only in first gear mate

Your talking yourself in to a spill Wigster 😆

I am looking forward to riding with nobbys, never run them on the bike before and keen to see the difference.

    You could be right James!

The main difference I have found running knobbys all the time is how much lighter your wallet feels when you have to change the rear every 5k.

First gear is my best friend TB. So looking forward to this one mate, now I have an idea of what to expect!

The great thing about OB’s is that the less experienced among us are encouraged at every turn and never made to feel like idiots. Even though the rides are supposed to be unsupported I get the distinct impression that you wouldn’t be left to die in the bush. (I hope I’m right about that!)

    Wigster,

When I first started riding I was looking at getting a bumbag setup and was getting it all sorted. All the old blokes carried a cigarette lighter… but they didn’t smoke.

Eventually I asked why. And was told very dryly that if the worst came to to the worst I was to just take the fuel line off the tank, splash some fuel around the bike, especially on the tyres, find my lighter in my bumbag and light ‘er up! Apparently someone was supposed to see the smoke or come and put out the bushfire and in the process save my sorry arse.

Tip for new players: Carry a lighter in your bumbag and don’t be afraid to use it! ;)

Sound advice that. But I’ve nearly set mine on fire in the garage…but I couldn’t find a lighter!

Thanks Amy. I am looking forward to the weekend.
I also will carry a cigarette lighter but hope not to have to use it and will rely on my good mate instead.
We are intending to fit some new knobbies for the ride.
Bye the way I don’t think there is any such thing as virgin pine forest in Australia.
