What a cracker of a weekend.
Thanks to TB for putting it on and all the hard work you have done to make it a fantastic Nav Ride. Thanks to Amy and PTW for all their hard work leading up to it with pre running and loading of GPS both nights and DJ in the support vehicle.
It was a ride with everything in it, fast flowing runs and then in to technical section , then up hills down hills creek crossing and very slippery parts like the pine forest. And the normal weather condition for this time of year which made it more than challenging.
It was great to have so many people from the industry on the ride and supporting it. Steve from Adventure Moto who gave away a $100 dollar voucher to James and other goodies.
Peter Payne from Yamaha Australia who is a big supporter of this advent, with special guest’s Stephan Gall and Geoff Ballard.
Jason Barett from Barett Industry and his crew with their new bikes.
The high light for me personal was to meet Stephan Gall, I have been a big fan of Stephan back in the late seventy’s with the MR Motocross series.
Got to meet him thanks to Peter Payne and have a chat with him, I found him a very humble man and a really nice bloke. Even got to point him in the right direction when Crash and I come across on his own. Never thought I would be helping Mr Motocross out 30 years ago.
Thanks for every one coming it was good to see the regular’s and meet some new faces
Thanks Crash for the weekend mate had fun and plenty of laughs. On my way home I got meet another Old Bull which was JTB2879 we had a great chat about the weekend and up and coming rides , I hope to see you on the next one John it was great to meet you.
Cheers

Looks like a cool ride (pun intended), couple of celebrity riders too.

James there is a time out setting we need to have sorry. In future write your report in Mircosoft Word and save it. Then drag your mouse over the story highlighting it, right click select copy. Then hit reply on the thread move the mouse into where you would write your report, right click, select paste and bang there you are. Hit submit, it wont have timed out and away you go.
Now bugger of and rewrite it mate I for one would like to read about your event

June 24, 2013 at 6:54 am #244141One more large tip of the hat to all involved in organising the weekend’s ride. As a first timer not really sure what I was in for, but didn’t realise I’d be grinning my bloody head off most of the way around. Fantastic mix of challenges, and the odd bit of tarmac to give us time to enjoy the scenery.
Huge thanks to Lefty for regularly popping up to check us newbies were OK. And in particular for then occasionally jetting off in the wrong direction (I’m sure on purpose to check we were following the GPS). And also for Wigster for not shaking the head too much each time I led us into another U-Turn. Seemed to happen invariably within 100m of taking over the lead.
To everyone else I spoke to thanks for making it such a great, and welcoming event. Is it too early to book in for the next one?
Steve
PS: Not sure what bike some of you were riding but I’ll guess they’re part time machines. Wigster and I were the first to leave Lake Canoblas on Sunday. We were overtaken by maybe 4 people in the morning. And yet Two Fat Ladies was packed when we arrived! Go figure.
PPS: Note to self. Stock up on liquid metal.

Hey Boll,,,, Get Stuffed
That weekend job near wore me out to be honest,,, close to 12 hrs Sat and 10.5 hrs Sun monitoring the PC and telephone
It`s easier being out there on the bikes I can assure yaJune 24, 2013 at 8:07 am #244465What an awesome weekend.
A big thank you to all the riders that came along and shared our tracks with us :woohoo: . It was pretty tremendous to see so many great people, the array of bikes, and of course and the support from Yamaha Australia and Adventure Moto.
From my point of view I would like to thank everybody for the words of support for the work we all were doing (i.e. the ride leads, sweeps, and the guys who were kind enough to follow in the 4WD).
When we see the result like we did on the weekend it’s all totally worth it.
Everybody was patient while we loaded the GPS’s and the slight delay in the second day ride briefing. The 4wd with all the computers didn’t arrive into Orange until a lot later, so we were a little pushed for time and were still loading the GPS’s up till 9.30. But again all worth it.
Our Saturday started early and very cold!!!!  :pinch: I think we rolled out of Lithgow at 6.40am and hit the tar through to Capertee.
We did this to get a jump on the riders and check the later section we thought might need some marking. We were confident about the first section, so just skipped it. Needless to say we were frozen when we got to Capertee. As we rode through the fog the water would settle on our arm then freeze when we went through a cold section. Non of us could feel our fingers.
This is the ice on TB and PTW’s jackets and check out the ice around my mirror. As the day warmed up we stopped for some quick photos of the fog in the valley’s. It was really beautiful.
We rolled into Wellington at about 1ish for some lunch, which is where we heard about Lotsa’s crash and a few people getting lost early in the piece. TB decided to go back to check out how the rest of the group were going and to check the general pace among the group.
PTW and I continued on and stopped in at Wolfy and Rach’s for some amazing scones, jam and cream. Their hospitality was very generous, and tasty. Now Rach is a bit of a cake wiz and she baked up an awesome little number for TB.
He got in a little later and we snapped this pic before we started inhaling the cake.
The run into Orange was great and I think we just beat the pack in.
At dinner and drinks it was great to hear the stories of the day. I had expected the muddy lane to cause a few more problem, but credit to everybody, it seemed it was conquered by all. We will have to step it up for the next one.
Day two seemed a little warmer at 6.30ish. Also I thought the tracks were a bit muddier than when we did the pre run, but still cracker riding.
After we had breakfast and then headed out the mark the forest section we figured the rest of the track would be fine. So we turned around and come back to join the other riders and then head out with the Yamaha guys to show them the pine forest and single trails. :woohoo: :woohoo:
After that I pretty much step out of the rest of the ride and hit the road back to Lithgow. I wasn’t looking forward to my trip back up the Putty and I wanted to get home at a reasonable hour. you could say I pulled a heartlidge
I got a bit of rain coming into Lithgow  and was a bit cold by the time I got back to the pub :side: . I spotted Wolfman and Pete and they were kind enough to help me load my bike onto the trailer.
AMAZING weekend. Thanks to one and all!! See you on the next ride or at the Birthday weekend.
