If you are hard on the rear tyre the Sunny Corner loam will tear up the soft rears. Dont go a hard tyre either as the slippery red clay will have you on your arse or down the bottom of a tricky hill looking at your mates up the top.
See Mals thread on the Kendas that he is loving atm.
Just dont run a half worn, or worse, rear. :silly:
Heavy Duty or Ultra Heavy Duty tubes are the go if you dont like changing your pinched tubes on the trail. Most of the local folk run mousse tubes which tells you something.
Gotta love rolling into the forest on new tyres . :woohoo:

King , it looks like an M12 from the pic and it says it on the tyre. Check it out on the ride!

M12 on the left and S12 on the right. Shagged after a Sunny Corner Trail bike rally!
M12 in the front, S12 at the back.
M12 front tyreRocket those 952’s just dont wear out! The rear is breaking side knobs but not the middle. Damn SC loam!

You dont think that Tisco would sell me something I didnt want would you?My mistake mate. I confused the close up shot of the front tyre as a rear. The block spacing on the narrow S12 rear is very similar. Looks like our fearless leader will he hooking up just fine!
STMMay 16, 2012 at 1:34 am #221890they last well hay i diid not like them on my 530 they griped okay but (952 s).you bite well i will be on your ride with new rubber
May 16, 2012 at 3:01 am #221073that looks like a nice buckle in your rim galey ,you dont have any probs with it i take it [leakn]
May 16, 2012 at 4:48 am #221904Well spotted Wolfie. SC loam will do that. :S No dramas with it other than guys on rides saying “Whoa look at the dent”.
Should have the new rear in for LC’s coaching clinic on Monday. One more ride on the 952 at Clarence should see it out. :silly:
Easy mistake to make King. Being a loyal subject of yours and you being King for a few more weeks, I should have let it slide. :pinch:
May 16, 2012 at 1:45 pm #221906I’ve got a Dunlop Geomax MX51 front 90/100 and a Pirelli Scorpion MX extra X rear 110/100
But I can school Galey with used tyres on Monday so they won’t be put on until before the Birthday Ride.
May 16, 2012 at 2:21 pm #221913S12 on the rear will look rather 2nd hand after that weekend I bet. My old D 952 on the rear holds up well for it’s age.

Have you tried a 90/100×21 before? I had 2 rides on a Bridgy M203 90/100 with a mousse (sized for 80/100) and it felt good.
I have a new one sat in the garage, I’m going to stick it on for this weekend along with a IRC M5B in a 130/100 flavour and mousse for desert. Never tried an IRC before.
May 16, 2012 at 5:33 pm #221074My new/old bike is running Michelin cross AC 10’s.They are the ones that came with the bike.I normally run Kendas and in three years i am yet to have a flat…touch wood
Any one know anything about these tyres ? Are they crap and am i doomed if they touch the fine loam/rocks of Sunny Corner?
Plenty of tred on the front as its a CRF and the front wheel very rarely touches the ground.
About 70 – 80 % on the rear.
????
Bol :woohoo:May 16, 2012 at 5:50 pm #221918Still running IRC 140’s on the rear of my 5 hungey
This is my third 500+cc KTM
Have tried others but keep coming back to IRC’s
You will be happy with your choice, Moto. :woohoo:
God help anybody who gets caught behind you. 👿 👿
Cheers

May 16, 2012 at 10:40 pm #221075I’ve ordered a pirelli mid hard 120 and an S12 for the front , thought i would try one of those s12 that seem to be popular
Was going for an mx extra rear but they didn’t have any
The mid hard seems to wear to certain point then not want to wear out
I might even take my new knobby knife to the old one before i change it
Who wants to put my tyres on at sunny corner
