What was that line from Jack Nocholson in a movie, something about when you get old “never pass a bathroom, never waste a boner and never trust a fart”
July 19, 2010 at 9:12 pm #184217To kinda bring this thread back on topic………….
Another thing that jerks my chain is when someone turns up for a 100km ride totally unprepared with no spares and no camelbak with drinking water etc. They are bound to be the person that breaks down or gets a flat. On that note, people that gladly borrow your spare tube then totally forget at the end of the ride that they owe you for the cost of the tube, shit me off too
July 19, 2010 at 10:01 pm #184221Yeah I will back that Mick, once questioned a guy that did a lot of riding about what he carried and he said he didnt bother with a tube, spark plug and link because it was an inconvenience and someone else on the ride would have what he needed, if needed.
But again there is more good then bad so focus on that is more positive

I swear after the Taylors Arm ride i now carry a few spares like a 17mm spanner
and a range of other sizes and screwdrivers and zip ties.

My last post wasn’t directed at you Corey but now I remember it would have been a bastard of an arvo for you pushing that 450 home in that heat.
The bit about that ride that sticks in my mind was when we pulled up for a rest and it became obvious that you where a little lost as you said ” dunno where that trail goes” and Tripper pipes up “yes you do, you lead us up it 10 minutes ago”
Good Friday trail from memory.
July 20, 2010 at 2:04 am #184125What gets under my skin is all us bike riders being tared with hte same brush,
as being hoons, enviro killers, and louts.
all because of the minority of tools who think it’s their ‘right’ to do what they like. where they wish and without any thought of future use by other riders and those that use the same area other than just bikes.
unreg riders!
and the insurance companies changing the capacity categories to get a bigger grab for the average blokes $$$
July 20, 2010 at 2:54 am #184126What gets under my skin
Going into a bike shop and not having the cash to buy everything i want
Not being able to ride every weekend
Not being able to buy a new model bike every 12 months
Not being able to ride various models of bikes at my whim
And coming to the realisation the “the older i get the better i was” :laugh:July 20, 2010 at 4:10 am #184241micknmeld wrote:
