while replacing the tube and broken spoke, i got to wondering if there was any benifit to going to stainless steel spokes?

daosplace on ebay has a full set of s/s with high-tensile nipples. for around $160 all up

the genuine KTM ones are an anodised steel by the looks of it, some of the spokes have some surface rust on them and alloy nipples. the genuine ones are $9.10 each just for the spokes and i don’t know how much the nipples are..

any/all info is as always much appreciated. B)

While your at it Drewpy put those tyres you won at the kenda on,they will hook up heaps better than those slicks you rode on at Glenmaggie

what are the rims like drew.

    and the hubs.

$160 a set for just spokes and nipples.

id look at new complete rims from seppoville.

    in black

    that would be phat

i dont think its worth replacing antthing more than you have to otherwise mate.

are your rims in good nick??

hey i only won one tyre. and my rear had heaps of the knobs left compared to Rangas

if i’m able to join in on the TB vic tour i just might throw on the new rear.

didn’t think much of the Kenda ‘heavy duty’ tubes i got with the 10% discount.

give the Michy UHD’s a work out i reckon. dunno what i do if i get a flat with them for seemingly no obvious reason…..

p.s. i reckon by the looks of it the front went flat after we put in the new tube before lunch due to a couple of pinches when refitting the tyre. but that’s riding… :silly:

yeah front rim looks ok, no obvious sharp bits. hubs are all good.

the front though has a bit of a dent in it from when i hit a block of concrete, following my bro. so didn’t see it through the dust. that was 6 or so years ago… and it’s not gotten any worse, even with some big hits up at Mansfiels and the like.
