3 word sum this one up..
dust and rocks.
now yous all feel like you were there, heres a brief on today.
meets kram180 in the pits and then we get to go on a sighting lap.
alls good it was actually my fastest lap.ok race starts, A grade tear off like scaulded cats,(all 4 of them) B grade leave bout 5 minutes later, Damus,Jarrod and me decide to sweep C grade, bugga me dead if kram180 is in this grade,, sweet I`m thinking get to pass him    , well here we are full noise and riding like men on a mission, I am in the zone, belts up the trail and approaches the third corner only to watch Kram180 do exactly that, a sweet 180 degree spin after trying a overtaking move totally blind by the dust,, that bloke has balls.
I`m sure Kram180 will do his ride report but I can tell you 3 flats does not make for a good day.
thanks PEP for dragging the 400 up and back and thanks to the old bulls that swept today it gets our name out there.
Boony
by the way did I mention it was rocky and dusty,
its raining here now so I`m going to get naked and run in it,
Boony

AnonymousSo there was dust and rocks eh Boony?
Dust and rocks suck
Still any ride is better than no ride
March 28, 2010 at 9:36 am #174639yeah your right Dan..
it was a good day out on the bikes.
March 28, 2010 at 9:40 am #174631Good of you to be out there helping Boony, without people doing it there would be no events. Was there much carnage for you clean up. Rocky like Louee? Who got the flats? Kram goes well I rode with him for a bit on Mick’s friday ride and had a ball but I feel I need to point out he is Kram140 mate, sorry

well
we did perch our selves on this narly steep entry and steeper slippery, rocky loose exit hill, now known as carnage hill, it was that good that if someone actually looked like they where gunna make we would run down and push them off. we did rescue quite a few on this hill and there was the odd good semaritan work to be done around the place,
as for kram 180, that is his new handle following his sweet off right in front of me, I told him I would call him kram180 from now on.
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:Boony
March 28, 2010 at 9:50 am #174642Heeyyyy
doesnt any one else do these pony express runs around the place???
never seem to hear about them except the ones up around here. :dry:March 28, 2010 at 10:29 am #174643There wern’t many injuries but the bikes took most of the hits. Aparently pep got to ride alot of different bikes up that hill cause guys were too stuffed. my new pillow soft grips have been torn a new A and my clutch lever is shorter than it should be. Riding in ruts is challenging and fun but not when you cant see any more than 2 meters. It was still fun.
March 28, 2010 at 10:32 am #174644Was only reading about the pony express class at Hattah yesterday,,
There use to be heaps of pony X-press races around, but don’t hear of it much anymore.March 28, 2010 at 10:35 am #174632Please don’t, there are women and children around, and small animals.
March 28, 2010 at 10:41 am #174648Good on ya Boony. Sounds like you had a good day out.
I’m keen to get and try some on these pony expresses this year.
Hey Fireman, I was reading about the Hattah the other day. Might have to organise something one year.
March 28, 2010 at 12:04 pm #174633We still run a pony express series up here in Central QLD. There is generally a good role up (over 100 riders) however the local clubs are struggling to survive because no one wants to put their hand up for the executive positions.
I did here that our brothers in the Mackay club (Central QLD) have put their hand up for next years 4 Day. They have a sweet block of land if they fluke the weather and dont ride the guts out of it prior to the race.99
March 28, 2010 at 11:35 pm #174634Good to hear all went well Boony, Aaron, Kram. I was wondering how things were going whilst we were making our assualt on Pork Chop. I think the honours of telling that story need to be left to Bollocks so won’t say any more until he gets back from work.
Did they change the track at Uralla or do any track maintenance. How’d you go Aaron, I heard Nick Rummery couldn’t finish so I figured that was your chance for a trophy.
Was it a good roll up.
I gather you hadn’t been to Uralla before Boony?

I think I’ve got enough Nurofen Plus in my system to try and type now
I think you’ve summed it up pretty well Boony. Except it wasn’t 3 flats, it was bloody 4  Yep got another on the last lap as well.
It was a day that nothing went right. Stalled on the start and a pretty good off on the third corner. Should have know it wasn’t going to be my day. I had another two crashes on the first lap trying to pass in zero visability. I still don’t know what happened, but an educated guess would be that I hit a bloody big rock that I couldn’t see because of the dust :woohoo: And if it wasn’t the rocks trying to throw you off at every opportunity you’d lose the front in the loose dust because you had to have so much tyre pressure.
But the conditions were the same for everyone and I still had a fantastic day and I would do it all again. Hang on I think that’s the Nurofen talking
Big thanks to stex for partnering with me again
And to Boony for organising yet another tube. I’ve forgotten who it was that supplied it but thanks heaps.
The best part of the day for me was that despite all our crashes…stex had a couple as well…and flat tires we still kept going and managed to finish.
Bring on the next round…… That’s the Nurofen again :woohoo:
TB it made Louee look like a sand pit!
