The company I work have put a semi trailer on to take donations to the Vic bush fire support effort
My boys went through and gathered together some toys, we sorted some clothes, shoes, sheets and towels to be sent down.
I am going down to donate some money today at the Bank that we as a family have all put together and urge all Old Bulls to see if you can do something anything for the people that have lost everything. Getting your mind around loosing everything you love and treasure in the blink of an eye is impossible to comprehend, let alone a loved one.
Make a mention here that you are doing something if you can, and we cant all do something, dont have say what it is, just add your name as a helper.
They are saying that there is 185 confirmed dead this morning, some 80mplus still unaccounted for.
Very sad
Cheers

That is how I will get involved, come on guys dig deep.February 11, 2009 at 11:24 pm #122013
AnonymousI contributed a couple of days ago. Although since then the situation seems to be alot worse than I originally expected so I will make an additional donation today.
There are clothes drops locally too guys so if you can’t give any money maybe you can help with clearing out your wardrobe a bit? I believe clothes are still being taken upto 3pm tomorrow arvo. Please note that the Australian Red Cross is not accepting clothes as it costs them more to gather and send the clothes down. Clothes drops are generally being operated independantly.
You can donate online with the Australian Red Cross or via the dedicated phone line (listed in the link) if you prefer.
I have stickied this thread in the hope you will all see it and make a contribution where possible.

AnonymousAt Lake Macquarie City Council they have set up a payroll deduction to donate to the Vic fire appeal through the red cross. I have donated but I am going to give a bit more. It’s great to see the Aussie spirit is alive and well. Hopefully everyone can give whatever they can afford to help these people out. And to the dirty scurge that are faking the collection of money, I hope you suffer the fate that you deserve:angry:
