the ride is in the planning stage so far Miasoho,

at this stage there is plenty of spaces open, and i reckon if there are more riders than beds at the accommodation that looks like the place to stay. there are a few camping areas there.

August seems to be the favored month.

look forward to meeting up sometime.

    well boys and girls,
it looks like this ride is gaining momentum by the minute. its a bit overwhelming, as i was worried noone would be interested……not the first time ive been wrong.
definately wont be the last either:laugh:

ive never organised something like this and would love to hear any input from any of you in regards to anything to do with the ride!!

ok, so we are going sometime in august! thats settled:)
is there any weekend that people who are interested in coming CANT make it.

the weekends in august are..(including the friday)
    july31-1-2nd aug.
    7-8-9th
    14-15-16th
    21-22-23rd
    28-29-30th
so if your keen, let me know when you CANT make it and we’ll see if we can pick the time to suit everyone.

i told my boss about the weekend and that ill be taking a couple of days off. he said to me..”no worries, only if i can come too”!!! he rides a wr450. so there is another starter!!;)

XY is doin a great job of spruiking, i owe him a beer or ten!!

we are up to about 9 to 12 maybe’s. i will call bush adventures tomorra and suss out max numbers, available dates, track closures in snow season, what sort of food they do, etc, etc….

just make sure the voodoo doll has a large apendage (for realizm) and abuse it repeatly really slowly and moan when your doing it.
have to use a 4×4 to get up a hill to watch the master on his DRZ conquour the hill(with a little assistance) because your sorry arse 300 ktm wouldnt make it up there.

I have spoken with Menace this evening and sort his permission to run a ride whilst we are down there. I am planning on being down there for friday, saturday and Sunday and will plan the ride for the saturday. The ride will require the participates to get to Mansfield some 23kms from where we will be starting. I will ride out as I am sure some local knowledge will improve it some what

We will fuel at the BP just outside Mansfield on the Mansfield – Mt Buller road and leave from there.

You will need to be able to do at least 110kms for a tank of fuel and we will be visiting the site of Craig’s Hut and Mt Sterling 1747 metres to name a few

I have to check somethings and will see how it goes, but thats the plan for those if any interested

    just got an email reply.

    “Hi Andrew
    Thanks for your enquiry.
We ride all year round, conditions during August are normally good and
rivers are still low enough to cross. A bit of rain and snow is what we are
waiting for, makes tracks nice and loamy, no dust. However there is enough
of a rocky base to enable wet weather riding. Access to the lodge is all
weather (gravel), with plenty of room for vehicles and trailers, undercover
parking for 20 or so bikes is available. We can accommodate up to 22 in beds
(bring your own sleeping bag) plus a few more on mattresses up stairs, a
good comfortable number is 16 or so. We need 8 to make a booking cost
    effective.

Have a look at my web site this one we’ve seen

    or read the profile on

some extra info here on dirt bike world

I look forward to hearing from you.
    Regards
    Brian

that sure clears a lot of questions up though. wicked man.

TB, maybe this bloke is the one to talk to about road closures.
maybe ya should email him with the proposed route and see what he reckons.

ill still call him tomorra and ask him about deposits, dates etc..
