Anyone keen to ride the weekend of the 30th? I’d probably prefer the saturday but could be convinced to ride the sunday without too much trouble. To keep with the ‘easy going’ theme I’m open for suggestions on where to ride  I’ll probably have some guys up from sydney again so probably grade 2.5 to 3.
May 19, 2009 at 4:44 am #134930Hey Austblue
My son and I were hoping to get a ride up in the Watto’s that weekend. I need to do a reco trip before my mate Mal5.1 comes up for a visit.
Was thinking of starting near the Pines riding the singles south travelling down Hitchcocks. Turning right at the tar and heading back around the Maculata track back up to Watagan forest rd. Then heading down Tunks and returning to the Pines via Muirs Lookout and more singles. Haven’t been down Tunks before and I’m not sure we will have enough fuel but I think its worth a look:woohoo:
Grading may be around 4 to 5:ohmy:
Shall get back to ya when the weekend gets a little closer.
Cheers

AnonymousI’m up for a ride on the Saturday. Your loop sounds good Murph although I doubt we’d do it on a tank of fuel. You could do most of that plus some other stuff that I didn’t take you boys on if you left from Dunks Lane though instead of the Pines. It’s a bit further South to drive to though….
You could even start from Dunks, do a load of tracks all the way up towards the pines head to Cooranbong for a refuel make our way back down drop down Tunks then through up maculata and back. There are a number of options…..

AnonymousWe could prick hill, some other hill I can never remember the name of and the the ‘Rio’ section too that I have only done once myself and was quite tricky due to the weather conditions.
EDIT: Come on Trent, one more for the hundered
May 19, 2009 at 5:27 am #134941:silly: Was going to post earlier but I thought I’d wait for the encore 😆 WOHOO 100 posts already! Ah geez who to thank…..
Murph, your trip sounds good but my brother is coming up and I know he wont be up for grade 4-5 and last ride we did he used a tank and was well and truly done for the day so I don’t think he’d be able to stick it out more than that esp if its fast going. I’m happy to work out a split day though if you know it well enough to sort of say “meet you at x to start – split up at y and maybe meet at z later”. Might be a bit of false confidence but I think I can stay out of trouble out there.
May 19, 2009 at 5:27 am #134942Sounds good Moto
Just as long as I have something solid in my head for when Mal5.1 comes up halfway through June:)
Don’t know where Dunks Lane is, but will find it on the map:huh:
Cheers
MurphMay 19, 2009 at 5:34 am #134956Good onya Austblue

AnonymousSounds good boys, I’ll put it in my diary. I’m sure we can sort a loop out that you’ll like/remember Murph if we stick to the more ‘known’ tracks
May 19, 2009 at 8:15 am #134962Yep starting at Dunks lane is Good,if Gili goes he will be able to show you Harris,Boyds Panadolhill (downhill),Prick Hill and Sidings road. Its not at all to hard if done early on. Id be up for it but I will probably be still out of action:(
congrats on the 100 posts Trent

May 20, 2009 at 10:39 am #134931I’m a possible for a grade 2-3 ride, I know a few tracks but mainly from the pines and west.
I’m not that quick eitherMay 25, 2009 at 3:01 am #135390
AnonymousJust to let you know Austblue that I will probably organise my own ride for the Saturday now and set it at around a grade 4+. This is because I need some practice for the impending HVMCC race in a couple of weeks.
I’ll start a seperate thread
Hopefully we can get out again soon though (assuming will still be riding with your friends from Sydney)?
