Had a good run today, about 200k by the time I got back home.
Deano was enroute to Tamworth for 5 weeks & Jeffro is busy prepping for his work trip, so I went ahead solo to track thru Wallaroo to Clarence Town & back. The weather was slightly overcast but pleasant as I wound thru the back roads along the Williams River thru , Millers Forest, Eagleton to East Seaham. Headed off into the State Forest and soon saw two cars with bike trailers, so I was mindful on the many blind corners as the trails are only just wide enough for a 4×4 in most places & narrower in others.
Had to negotiate a couple of small creek crossings and also dodge some ripped up clay sections via very tight single diversions (damn 4×4`s had made a huge mess in the grey clay)
Made it out the other side unscathed and without seeing the other bikes (but I did see a lot of evidence of them around in the mud & clay)Motored over to Clarencetown for a break, drink, snack & a piss before heading back into the Forest along some different trails, crossing the morning ones in places.
This time there were heaps of bikes about (could hear them often & passed one group of about 8 going the opposite way) Also found about 12 cars parked where the two were earlier in the day,,,Motored back home past Jeffro`s place, but he was out
So i headed home for a late lunch & clean the bike time
No pics sorry, I always forget the camera and can`t be arsed digging the phone out of its hiding place in my jacket
Cheers

Makes me kinda glad my kids don`t ride,,, as good as it would be at times, it beats trying to find places to ride legallyAugust 27, 2011 at 7:58 pm #207706just need some good reading material eagle the kids are harmless and its all okay had the sunday herald today got the bike bug out yesterday with axel so did not worry me watching relaxing in the bush i am a bit of a greeny love getting out in the bush(they would not let me have a nana nap but)

Neither TB nor Krusty invited him into their tents and just rolled him up in a small tarp for the night
Krusty has spent a bit of time on the ground , TB has had problems starting the Tenere this morning and Deejay ran out of fuel but I’ll let them tell those stories !!!

Yeah, I looked at the “Welcome to Eagleton” sign on the way past & chuckled to myself (that might be a pic to get), also looked at the sloppy bogholes & remembered Jeffro`s report a few weeks ago and thought to myself “Hmmm, don`t wanna get stuck out here for hours alone” So I took it steady & soldiered on !
Wallaroo SF is rather small for a decent ride I think, a lot of the tracks just loop back over each other, there were some singles darting off hear & there that Huskybloke would be famliar with, maybe even Jeffro
As for the SPOT, I have one on the wishlist (well really her wishlist) It shouldn`t be too far away
Cheers

havent done much out there this winter( been focusing on stroud /buladelah)but your right its not real big but there is plenty of trails out there i can go close to a 100km loop out there if you look at the loop ona GPS its like a 3 leaf clover as you criss cross over the park .
The first thing i say to anyone that comes out with me eags is dont trust the waterholes they coul be 10 cm deep on one time you go through and the next if they have a big weekend with 4wd out there they will swallow your bike the next time you hit them best advice is go around them but all i all its still a good ride out there great in summer for an early blap before it gets to hot and back home to hit the pool if anyone ever wants to have a look out there give us a yell and i will do a loop out thereAugust 27, 2011 at 10:46 pm #207704Yeah mate,,, I hear ya on the waterholes
Lucky for me the two blokes from the first car I saw at the clearing had been thru them all and I could see entry & exit linesStill took it with care though ,especially the real big one I had to hang a right on into a tight single diversion (damn it was deep) :woohoo:
