    Hahahaha, checkmate.

Seriously though what is it you hope to achieve with the high guard? Is for looks or function. It would seem others such as TB have done it and found negative affects. As for looks I think the MX guard looks out of place on them.

There have been instances where the low front guard has clogged with mud or clay while riding and also of the mud causing the front wheel to lock up when the mud has come free after drying up causing accidents.

In my opinion high front guards just look cool. This is not Dakar people. This is Aus.

    LONG ANSWER
Low guards are for road bikes. High guards are for off road bikes. Yeah, yeah I know Dakar is raced off road but I don’t have a factory truck chasing me around in case it gets wet/muddy. Bucky (wearing a high guard) and I rode the same terrain for 435kays not so long ago. At the end of the day there was bugger all difference in the amount of dirt/mud on our bikes.

    SHORT ANSWER
    I like them betterer :P

I have now done over 65,000 on my Teneres and only had to remove my front guard once ( the other time I did and swapped it for the high guard mid trip your were there and I need not have bothered it really wasnt needed ) as I was saying the only other time I took it off the rear wheel locked up because of the mud before the front.

Experience has shown with the high guard

Radiator gets full of mud and shit of the front tyre. Radiator, water pump hose, rectifier, coolant bottle all are an easy target for rocks from the front wheel and get damaged. Mud throws over the front, when in the sand and standing sand seem to come over the front
Couldn’t seem to get a good fit with the tie down hook and you struggle to tie them down with out the hook with straps rubbing on body work

I am not saying don’t do it, I like the low guards  do you know why Dakar bikes run low guards (and Jtb they don’t sit there with mud in the guard waiting for a truck load of frogs to scrap the mud out  ) so why do they run low guards?

I assume it’s for high speed work and because they don’t encounter mud? That’s my guesses exhausted… ;)

If only he had an MX front guard, 👿 although it didn’t help the Husqvarna.
