We are currently seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented person with Instrument/Electrical qualifications who can maintain a commitment to customer objectives in a Service Technician capacity.
As a Site Support & Services Technician you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning and servicing of Hamworthy Combustion equipment, projects, control systems and instrumentation. Additionally, you will be involved in the investigation & identification of problems & the implementation of solutions.
With this role you will join a world-wide team of Site Support and Service Technicians. The role will be based in Australia and will involve frequent overseas and interstate travel to our customers’ sites and frequent offshore work.
The Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally:
– Have an instrument/electrical trade or engineering qualifications.
– Have prior electrical and control system experience – with a good understanding of PLC’s and instrumentation.
– Be prepared and willing to travel at short notice as the role will require frequent overseas travel and offshore work.
– Be self motivated and a good communicator.
– Be able to work independently with minimum supervision.Combustion experience will be highly regarded, however is not essential as full training will be provided (in the UK).
This interesting and demanding role provides an excellent opportunity for a trade or engineering qualified person to progress and become a respected specialist for the world leading manufacturer of combustion products.
An excellent remuneration package will be negotiated commensurate with your qualifications and experience.

If you have some PLC experience to boot it would stand you in much better stead. It sounds like the Joburg job was small boiler/burner systems if they were in a factory. This position can cover that but is aimed at the bigger power station, petrochemical and offshore side of things.
Basic salary is competitive (based on experience), and the additional payments made up from all the travel can increase your salary by a further 70% of your base.

The position also carries with it a company phone, laptop and credit card (for expenses).
