Holey hell it has been wet in these parts!! I have been out this morning taking flood pictures for the paper and there certainly is some water ripping down our river this morning!! I just spoke to Moose on the phone and he said that they got an evacuation order this morning. Moose in his normal manner laughed it off and said that he is confident they can handle what is coming. He has lived there all his life and has seen it worse. I certainly hope he is right, he has only one paddock that is not under water and all his cattle are holed up there. Lets hope that the forecasts are correct and the rain subsides a little today. Yesterday was the first time I have had water in the shed since it was built. Talk about flogging down rain!!
June 14, 2011 at 12:21 pm #203286Hey all you guys yes I hope that the rain subsides for your sakes, take it easy, we have had a little rain but nothing like you guys are getting..
Stay Dry
Chris.
Bloody Moose he’d be one of those guys standing on his roof waiting for a helicopter to pick him up and he’d still be laughing.
June 14, 2011 at 12:29 pm #203287Got to stop soon hasn’t it

June 14, 2011 at 4:38 pm #203289Well thanks to last night’s downpour I now live on an Island. Our house paddock is high and dry but our access and lower paddocks are under water. AND it’s still raining.
Lucky I did a quick trip to town early yesterday to stock up on food and beer
Our phone line is down but we still have power. The ABC news has just reported the evacuation of hundreds of Kempsey residents as it looks likely the flood waters will breach the levy banks and flood the town.
I spent the early hours of yesterday morning walking in knee deep water trying to get Stex’s cattle to high ground. Stupid bloody animals. It wasn’t a lot of fun walking in the freezing cold water with rubber boot full to the brim
Don’t think I’ll be going for a ride in the next coupls of day.
Hope everyone else throughout the region is OK.

June 14, 2011 at 5:08 pm #203295There is only one way out of town here at the moment and that is through Bago to the Highway. Although it has just had a tree fall across it. :pinch:
Plenty of politicians roaring about in Helicopters though. Do some proper work you dead shits, is what I say.I thought you’d be isolated by now Kram. Maybe they will do an aerial drop of some vegemite and sugar to you mate if things get any worse.

Sega rally may be a 17 year old game but a classic.
Hope you chose to be the banker mate and no how to over pay your self
June 14, 2011 at 6:53 pm #203299My sleepy part of the Coffs Coast was all over the national news last night. All that footage of flooding roads and mini cyclones got us on the map. More in the forecast to come and considering we topped 400mm in 48 hours it is the last thing we need.
