So I go to the doctor last week, get the referral to the x-ray for yesterday to get a check-up and hopefully the resulting “all clear in a few more weeks … “. Even though it’s a bit sore still I thought “it must be nearly OK by now”.

Nope, instead I get the “oh dear, that’s not healing at all. In fact the tip of your collar bone is just floating around out there.” … “also, I think that looks like you have a dislocated shoulder and disconnected ac joint! I’m going to have to refer you to a specialist, this needs surgery, and soon!”

    F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck!!!!!!

Ah well, so I now have an orthopaedic specialist appointment next Monday, possibly straight into surgery for pins and plates and shit in my shoulder. Oh dear … the bikes stay under that blanket for sometime to come just yet.

SHIT!! Goodbye 2013 (bit dramatic I know, but I’m pissed off right now) :pinch: :pinch:

I’ll just keep occupied with shopping; Body Armour, Neck Brace, New Goggles … New Helmet might be nice, I did quite like Mick’s Scott helmet?? etc etc

    No good Razzle.

I had a similar drama when I dislocated my shoulder.

I went to the Hospital where they xrayed and said all was ok. I asked about possible tears because I don’t want to be messing around with it for the next 6 months and the young lass gets me to show the range of motion I had. She says no you wouldn’t have that amount of movement if you had torn it and so off home I go.

I read up on the internet on what to do and start the exercises after a couple of weeks then start some physio. after about 4 weeks of physio the guy says it isn’t responding and I should see a specialist. It took a few more weeks before I could get in the a few more before I could get scans done by which time the specialist is on holiday. So there it is another few weeks before I see hime again and find out I had torn the rotator cuff completely of the bone.

So there it was, 6 months almost to the day from injury to surgery which I was trying to avoid in the first place.

Goodn luck with it anyway and hopefully your surgery is done well before the 6 month mark.

BUGGER !!! THATS CRAP RAZZ  When I was admitted to Port base hospital they just were more concerned with dealing with the Pain. I didnt know to much I was bombed out on Morphine and Endone. :woohoo: it wasnt until I got back to Sydney and my DR sent me to St Vincents that they agreed that I needed a plate installed which by now was two weeks after the crash. Thankfully I did get it done as I am only just now feeling comfortable and getting full range of movement. I was looked after at Port and have nothing but praise for the Nursing staff there. I think that because im in the Defence force I am covered by private health and “cost”is not an issue. where as Port is Public and gave me the bare essentials for recovery. Anyway mate I do hope you recover quicker than I have as I am looking forward to showing you around Maria SF when I get up there.

Hey razzle not sure how long you’ve been “On the mend” but it must be a cock waiting all that time and now finding out it wasn’t doing diddly  you’d think they would just fix it at the time.
I got a call from the surgeon on Friday asking me to come back in this week (a week after they said stay at home and let it heal) to discuss surgery on my arm after spending two nights in there why didn’t they do it then
still at least we can keep each other company at the birthday bash while they are all out getting cold and wet ;)
p.s it’s not your drinking arm is it ?
