We arrived at the twin Caltex’s at 7am as planned and found there was no one waiting! Oh well its early days and we only posted it on friday afternoon.

We started to unload and then could hear chicken sending the big XR600, he said he wasnt coming but well we just knew Bikes unloaded and new new braces fitted, god they felt funny, chicken just said the suck it up, rub some dirt in it and man up !!

We left headed over towards the lodge, did a nice loop and then thought how good would the track to the scout camp be? how good, NOT GOOD AT ALL The track was over grown theres an understatement, it had vines that stalled my bike mud and mud and more mud, bog holes and logs, trees over the track. This track takes about 10 to 15mins through the to scout hut but today it was a disaster, BIG MISTAKE but we pushed on thinking it will get better NO it didnt. Both the 650s boiled at the same time but I thought it best to get some fresh air into it but the track didnt clear and had to stop and let it cool down.

After a break we pushed on, and I mean pushed, thru bogs over logs and when I pulled up I couldnt hear the others, so ithought I would just go a little further then wait. The track opened up and thought I was going to get into 2nd and then rode straight inti the mother of all bogs!

I waited for the boys, took my helmet of removed my ear plugs and couldnt hear them, tried to get the BRP out but couldnt! So I waited nothing so I tried again to get the bike out. Long and short of it was that it took me and hour to get my bike out I then rode without to much drama to the scout hut but didnt know what had happened to the others.

Crash had dropped it,yeah the new 650 29.3kms into the maiden ride and destroyed the left hand radiator, he and chicken then pushed it some 3kms thru the toughest stuff I have ever ridden (pushed dragged and swore) my way thru, they are tough those guys. Chicken found some electrical cable and he towed him out of the forest whilst I went back and got the car.

Crash was upbeat about his new bike and will be getting some unabiker radiator guards in the near future!

    Stay tuned more to come.!

Well I went and met the boys on Hue Hue Rd and off we went all was going well untill the 650s’ started to over heat ( no such problem for the old 600, it might be old and ugly but she’s reliable.) It was all over red rover when Crash pan caked the radiator. Time to suck it up and man up, Crash might be short in the legs but they’re strong. The day started well and ended very tired after pushing the 650 out and walking back wards and forwards to get the 600 and all our gear out. Must do before any ride, RADIATOR GUARDS AND BRACES, as Confucious says learn and move on grasshooper.
