Gili and myself were all keen for a blat in the Watagans as it was two weeks since we had both been for a ride.Moto and Matt couldnt make it some lame excuse about having to find a place to live or something and a leaking fuel tank wtf lol
We set off from Dunks lane and headed up to Boyds rd then up to Duffies then down Panadol hill.We were both riding like girls making all sorts of dumb ass mistakes. My WR had shat its battery so today it was all kick starting for me,we made our way down Panadol and I got stuck in a creek crossing, after gili and I manhandled it out we sat on the side of the trail and waited for a couple of other lads coming the other way, they were going up Panadol hill,we could hear them in the distance struggling all the way up:laugh: we eventually got out of that rugged terrain and back onto boyds.we then went into some really sweet single trail that Moto had shown us a couple of weeks before. We came back out onto Watagans forest Rd and decided to explore a couple of point rds to see if they went anywhere unfortunatley they didnt but they sure were fun blasting down the loose leaf covered tracks:woohoo: We then went onto siding rd and went looking for a track we had ridden on with Moto, we went past it at first but thought we might just cruze along and see where the other tracks come out, again unfortunatley we went as far as we could, We came across a couple of young girls on horses and we did the righty by them and killed the bikes,Ive seen a horse take off with its rider hanging on for dear life before and I didnt want that to happen again! we came across them shortly after as we had to double back, this time we killed the engines and rolled safely past. We found the track that we were after and headed along it,we had to manhandle the bikes a few times as logs and ruts were fairly frequent,it eventually came out onto this mother of a hill,Gili attacked it first and after a bit of a struggle made his way to the top, I on the other hand was completely knackered I got past the hard part but got stuck on a little rut, Gili came back down and had a go and he torqued her all the way to the top.We had a breather and Gili said have a look at my leg! as he rolled up his riding pant I saw a big pool of blood that looked like he had been shot!! He then pulled out this leach that was easily four times its normal body width and was chockers full of Gili’s blood! We then decided it was time to head back to the Ute as it was getting hot and we were both knackered and not enjoying it anymore,so we blasted down watagans forest rd again. I decided we would do Boyds in reverse for a change so we headed down there and then made it back to the Ute. all up we had covered only 51 kms in about 4 hours it sure was hard going, the other guys we had met out on the trail who had covered the same trails as us had the same ideas as well and they had also decided to head back to the comfort of their cars. all in all it was a good ride with both myself and gili becoming more familiar with the trails we are riding on. I will be getting a battery for the Yamaha in the near future as it is crazy kicking a big four stroke all day,I now have more respect for the guys who ride the BRP’s:laugh:

    cheers Ollie

Good report as usual Ollie, sorry I didn’t make my own ride  It was only the fuel tank that was stopping me on Saturday otherwise I would have been there. I’m getting a little concerned about getting it for this weekend. Look like the old one might have to go on (big thanks to Chris and TB).

I’m keen to see this panadol hill as you’ve mentioned it a few times now. We’ll save that one for next time :)

    Good one Ollie!
When I was reading through it, I thought, “Hello, Ollie’s a brave man! – Just because the Squirrel snuck up the leg of Gilis pants to hitch a ride without Gilis permission is no reason to refer to him as a blood sucking leach! A good description really! You know, a spineless, slippery creature whos life depends upon the existence of others! But then again, you wouldn’t put it past the little cat choking fur ball to try and poison our current Old Bull Trophy holder just because he can’t ride as well! The lengths that little bastard will go to to get ahead…….He has no morals!!!!!!

Panadol hill was the name given to this one particular hill when I helped to cut the track in about 15 years ago,we used to go up it but I reckon I would have a coronary if I did it now,I choose to go down(that sounds bad! )it runs off Boyds rd and comes out eventually on Duffies.I honestly wouldnt try it if you wernt a confident hillclimber.

    cheers Ollie
