    Actually TB I am as sober as a judge. Here’s the story.

    Todays crew consisted of;
    Mick XR630
    Moose XR600
    Tripper XR600
    RiderX WR250
    Mthickett CRF250
    Itsagas Gas Gas450
    We all kitted up in my shed and headed off towards Cowarra where we were to meet up with Puddles on his WR400.It was shaping up to be a great day with perfect weather and trail conditions.
    I was leading the ride at that stage and I was waiting on a corner for the next rider, after several minutes of waiting I concluded something was wrong, so I headed back to see what the hold up was.
    As it turns out Trippers XR had stopped and wouldn’t start no matter what we tried,so seeing as we were not that far from a main road Tripper decided to pull the pin and hitch back to town to get his ute to pick up the bike.
    In my haste to get back to where everyone else was waiting, I wasn’t sparing the horses, maybe even going a bit quicker than I should have been and things got out off shape on me on a greasy red clay hill and I ended up in a rutt that came to an abrupt end. When the XR hit the end of the rutt she pulled up dead and sent me for a bit of a tumble over the hangers.
    The XR landed heavily and was on full throttle, revving its tits off as the barkbuster had jammed up hard against the throttle tube.
    Got that sorted and finally met up with the rest of the crew, so we could make our way to meet up with Puddles, half an hour later than anticipated.
    As it turns out Puddles had done something to his back and was a bit tentative in his riding and wasn’t into it at all., Once we got going again RiderX took the lead duties and I was relegated to sweep.
    We decided we would go over towards Old Bottle Butt as there are some great trails in that area.
    On the way to Old Bottle Butt we decided we would have a go at a tricky little hillclimb.
    This hill climb looks relatively easy at first glance looking from the bottom,it is not until you turn a corner near the top and you are confronted with a gnarly rock step up.
    RiderX went up to the gnarly bit, to be on hand if anyone needed a hand there. That was a good call as Michelle on her first attempt, nearly made it but not quite so she went down to the bottom and had another bash and once again got so close to making it with out needing a hand.
    Here’s Michelle getting a bit of a hand from RiderX

    Itsagas had a bit of strife too

    Then he roosted RiderX a beauty!!
    DSC02977.jpg

    I might just take the chance to say the mighty XR tractored up and over all those rocks first go!! It may not have looked pretty but she made it!!!

    From there we headed into the sweet trails that lead to Old Bottle butt. On one of those trails there is a rather sharp step down of about 2 feet and Puddles saw it a bit late and dropped over harder than his crook back could handle, so that was the end of his ride as he decided to retire there.
    The trail to Old Bottle butt is through some great loamy rain forest sections

    We had a rest at Old Bottle Butt, which is one mother of a tree!!

    From there RiderX lead us to a cool secret lookout.

    From there we crossed Bago road and headed off into Bago State forest where we did a lot of the trails done on the last big Wauchope Ride. This weeks rain had the trails in perfect condition with little or no dust and we had a ball.RiderX took us on some of his secret trails too that were awesome.

    By 12 oclock we had done 70km and as some of us had to be back by 1pm we headed back to my place for a few beers and a yarn which topped the ride off nicely.
    Man I love living here!!!!

    I only had one beer out there. Like I said I was sober.:ohmy:

    I should have also mentioned I was really impressed with a few things from yesterday, they were in no particular order;

    Michelle’s riding, she had a go at everything we threw at her and believe me RiderX didn’t go easy on us and she certainly can peddle that CRF of hers.

    Itsagas’ confidence level. He is really starting to show a tonne of confidence in his own ability.

    RiderX’s ability to just keep linking up so many sweet single trails.:woohoo:

    Nice ride Mick. Sounds like it was strewn with excitement and you even had your mandatory off as well.

    Nice to see everyone got back in one piece.

    What did you do to fix the CAT bike? I mean before with the dodgy cam and followers?

    Thanks Riderx and Mick for a great ride! Had a blast and couldn’t get over how perfect a day it was for riding after the dodgy rain on Friday. Made the trails nice and tacky. Thanks for the help and a great day. Best fun you can have with your clothes on! You won’t get rid of me now.
