I’ll be after a front shortly, what do you suggest?
Chris.
February 8, 2009 at 11:41 am #121509Try one of Ollie’s retreads, only thing is hard pack they suffer from knob flex, scares you at first but thats it, good thing for the coin. (ADB said the same thing Ollie) I will buy another and I got the first one for free  good value

February 8, 2009 at 1:26 pm #121510Hey Ollie, your even listed as a dealer on the website, what are the front’s worth.
Cheers
Chris.February 8, 2009 at 7:19 pm #121516That Hillend ride was hard on tyres though TB, My rear MC5 was destroyed in 560km.
February 8, 2009 at 7:31 pm #121520Yeah Mick but I do that sort of riding all the time, just over half its wear was that ride, 125kms in the wet and mud of the watagans, it fair to think your going to get better than 350kms. Seeing how my bike is getting fingered for the blame would be good for Tiny to try one I reckon but yeah Hillend is rocky in spots, but Moto’s soft Michelin M12 did 600 + kms up there in the same terrain and is in better nick, and its a 450 race bike lol. Just my honest thoughts, I paid for it I bought it and its an honest opinion. I looked at your tyre when we got to Capertee on the way back and its in better nick than mine and it has done double the klms, in hard dry dusty terrain and is on a 630!

Mine was the softer S12 TB, not the M12. The front is still on the bike too
I’m giving this Scorpion an honest go, if I don’t like it I will try an M12 next. I’m very impressed with the grip of the S12 so far though

Quote:Hey Ollie you doing Yellow Mountain this year, and dont give me the two stroke thing, two strokes have won more Finkes than four strokes!2 of the DBW guys finished top 8 (I think one was 3rd and the other was 8th) overall at Yellow Mountain last year running KTM200EXC’s
February 8, 2009 at 11:54 pm #121550
AnonymousOkay, I take the above statement back, one guy on a 200EXC finished in 5th, the other that finished 10th and rides in the Watagan’s was on a 4 stroke.
Still, 5th outright on a 200

No not really for the fronts they are all the same, for the rears on a 250 fourstroke I would recommend the 695 which is a narrower tyre allows the tyre to spin up easier, goes good on my boys KXF250.

February 9, 2009 at 10:45 am #121487Hey be careful ollie, you haven’t finished day one at Wauchope twice I know of (rekulse and gasser gearbox) and two times in the watagans with flat tyre, just slipping away quietly and thats weak
should own a kwacka. eg: the chunk of grass hanging out my front tyre didnt stop it from rolling off,….lol
