Your math (obviously unlike Dave’s) is correct TB. Dave rides over 800Km’s a week and has done for the last 1560 weeks.

Maybe it’s only the last 15 years he’s accrued all of this mileage and in fact he rides over 1600 Km a week (228 Km every single day) If I had ridden as many Km’s as Dave I’d want to be toweling David knight by now.

The Rat has dug himself a hole so big this time I’d just stay down there if I were him :P

Yeah but what can you do when you don’t have the answer Mick? Let me tell you – read Rat’s posts above

Dave, I’ve never said you’re not a good rider and never said anything your skills with MX coaching just so we’re straight, you are the one that brought that up. But since you and pooples were so keen to get on my case you can both have some back! The fact you posted you’ve ridden 1.25 millon Km’s was, well, a red flag to a Bull (pun intended).

You can tell me at the race how you have ridden so much. You most be the hot favorite to win the Ironman considering you ride so much every week. A mere 3 hours must be a walk in the park for you ;)

Steady Dave, I never once or ever have believed you to be a lair, I think you are a man of your word that’s why you are a trusted friend and I have purchased a bike that I am happy with from you and trusted you with important things that we know. This morning I have just been testing my maths, quoting the fact that you have been having on the bike time and the fact that it will be an interesting race haven’t I?

I hope they are checking the egos at the start line or there’s gunna be some serious accidents at this event.

BTW I’ve done over a million kays in 30 years on bikes, but that was roadbikes as well, every day for 20 years 200 kays round trips to work and back, then weekends sometimes 800 -1000 kay days, regularly did batemans bay and back, starting fri lunch and back Sun night, every weekend with the Missus on either my bike or both bikes. And we weren’t as serious as some of my old mates who did really big kays to the rallies and race meets so-forth around the country.

Just because it’s not in your sphere of experience doesn’t make it untrue, I’ve personally never been into space, but there are those whom have….

I think a breather may be needed here for some.

The thing is Bruce we are not talking about road bikes. I might have done a million K’s in my car but that’s got nothing to do with riding bush K’s at probably less than half the average speed.

If Dave wants to dish it he should expect to receive it, simple as that. Ego doesn’t come into play. I’m not saying I’m quicker than Dave, I’m saying his 1.25 million K’s is hard to believe (big understatement). I said I’d beat Puddles but so would my sister so that’s hardly talking myself up

Dave’s not a big sook and I’ll happily continue the banter when I see him on Sunday.

Also depends on an individuals history too Moto, when I was 14/15 I wore out 2 brand spankers IT175s in just over twelve months, completely shagged them, cause the routine was

up at 5 round cattle up to milk..

ride to bus stop to go to school

ride home after school, get changed, brothers and i head up the bush for an hour or so, back home check cattle, weekends if not racing or working on farm we could easily go through a 44 of super in two weeks between the three of us.

Not that you could do it now, but on wednesdays (sports day) I used to ride my It175 to a garage at the edge of town (40 kays) leave with old man taylor go to school, finish sport early and then ride home again, then go riding after school…. B)

I hate to think how many hours we spent riding but conservatively 20 hours a week, from age 9 to 15, and then my obsession with real speed happened…….

That fair enough Bruce. I would have ridden heaps when I was young too if I had the chance. My point is would Dave have averaged over 800Km’s every single week for 30 years.

Not the first 10 when we he was a nipper and probably easily averaged that, but going on through your later days with women on the scene and now with a family etc. According to his first post he’s been married for over 23 years now….

Nah Bruce they are right I could not have possibly ridden 150 km every day for years whilst training for the NSW Enduro and sprint series, with the playground on my doorstep(literally 38,000 acres on the property alone , bordering on to state forest) when I am self employed and have 4 bikes to do it on, they are right Bruce, they living in the city cant comprehend others riding every morning, I just lie, ask anyone not involved with this site and see what they say, also at the races and they will confirm it as well that I dont turn up(have opened the complex every race day at 5.30am for years)cant ride for shit and my schools are always full……go figure…..(yet always have rides with guys….just dont talk about it here like some EGO’s…..get it through you fat heads …..OLD Bulls is not the only place where I ride (thank god)…..
Yes bruce I think a camera on MOTE when he comes back after his first lap will sort the petal out for where he is in the real bike racing and riding world….
Oh yeah I just thought of another thing that means I cant teach MOTE, the results of my own kids riding, they mean nothing
9 year old this year outright MX Champion 1st place, Sprint championship 2nd place , Overall club 7-9 yrs age champion 1st place, 2nd place in one of the NSW STATE MX titles, Hang on maybe you have been coaching him…..the same advanced techniques you have shown TYNE at Louee, like you told me…..put you feet down going down a hill so you can stop your self from falling….what about the back brake, you know that little pedal on your right FOOT, nah who needs to stop , what about the centre of gravity being high (in her arse on the seat because she has her feet out) and unstable as opposed to keeping it low(by weighting the pegs standing up), all to confusing I bet

MOTE I cant wait for scrutineering

There you go Dave, at least you’ve had your say. Most of it irrelevant and non relational to the only thing I have called you on. All you have is to tell me how good your sons are (which I appreciate they are) and about your MX school (whioch I appreciate is a very good thing too and you do great work from what I hear) and how you open the gates on race day.

A heart warming tale but nothing to do with you riding 1.25 million K’s.

You are happy to dish the crap but it appears unable to accept it and have to resort to making threats about me passing scrutineering. I have already mentioned I’d speak to you about it when I see you Sunday, if you want to be childish about it and sulk because I said I find it hard to believe your claim, then more fool you.

Settle you guys. How’s about we leave it at that ay? it is only a pony express,a bit of fun with no sheep stations on the line, remember?
Treat it like a trail ride and have some fun. That is my plan,I am to old and unfit to think of it any other way.

Mick – It’s got nothing to do with the PE! And since it doesn’t and we obviously aren’t going to get anywhere I won’t post anymore about Dave’s 1.25 million K’s.

So, what time do I realistically have to be there? Should I get there at 9am all keen and ready to go?
