I think for what it’s worth that what has been said has been said and everyone should kiss and make up in the OBT way and go have a rum! I have seen how much work goes into these rides and no I have not organised one myself mainly because I don’t think I yet have the experience to organise a ride of such magnitude and I have the greatest respect for those that have the ability, experience and skill to put one of these ride together and have it run smoothly and all have fun such as the Hill End Ride. Whilst I also appreciate the opinions of all members here at OBT and we do encourage the right to have your say. There is no right and wrong it is just discussion.

    Cheers
    Chris.

Guys please respect the decision of the people that are organising rides. Anyone that has done one knows what it takes to get it sorted and get a ride to run smoothly.

Rides are often capped to ensure good fun is had by all participants and beacuse only a limited few want to sacrifice their ride to ride to help out.

Please remember you are all free to organise a ride yourself, that way maybe the poeple that always do the organising might be able to turn up and just have a ride for once.

Whilst constuctive criticism is encouraged at OBT we would ask that you think about things before posting and decide if a PM to the relevant person may be a better way to go first. This doesn’t go for this thread/post, it goes for all of them.

I myself have been leading and organising rides for nearly 20 odd years and Moto My good man brings up a very valid point, please dont take this the wrong way but when you lead for so long you you get a little bored by yourself and you have always got the risk of head ons as you are the lead, I do know what I am talking about here I have had 4 head ons in the bush, I love the rides that others organise because I can play with the other bikes now, I can get to see some of the fun things that can happen on tough sections as well as the silly things I can show the others when I always fall, as well as not having the pressure of whats happening at the front, I know it is a hard call and we all have one thing in common… A love for bikes(can Hondas qualify here)(did I think that or write it….sorry TB, I thought it I am sure but I have a new computer that reads my mind)

Lastly this Particular ride is Micks Birthday so F#ck the sh@t and lets just do what we can to be happy for the old bastard(sh@t I am older I think)

Puddles, nobody has asked anyone to post anything about Hillend. People have posted what they want up there. They have had a good time and having attended the ride see the amount of effort that goes into it so some feel to say a thank you to TB (or whoever organises the ride) is common courtesy. You don’t HAVE to do this.

I have to agree with this whole heartedly:) I am totally new to this sport, only having been on the bike since Oct 08,,, I am clearly not in the position to be able to organise a ride that would suit 80 percent of OBT members.
I thoroughly enjoyed the times I have spent with the OBT crew (XmasParty & Hill End) & I certainly felt the need to thank TB as well as the rest of the crew for a great time last week. Without OBT I certainly would not have EVER considered taking on that ride!!!!
Not once have I felt any pressure from anybody to give praise or thanks, each & everyone of the guys & gals I have met so far have all but bent over backwards to be of assistance no matter what the circumstances were:) :)
I myself have offered my services as support driver with my cruiser on the Denman ride, so that others that did so at HillEnd can enjoy a ride on a bike rather than in a car (without AC etc) I certainly would like to do the ride as well, but this one I am happy to drive, help out where I can & still I will get to enjoy the company of some great people:) :) :)

On the capping of numbers,,, I have been involved in many 4×4 trips over the years (slightly different than bikes, I agree) but I personally have seen trips where a reduction in numbers could have made the event a lot quicker, run smoother, less traumatic & generally more enjoyable. It is regrettable that some people sometimes may miss out, Never good to be that person ot people, but theres always the next ride coming up ,,,,,,,:) :) :)

Sorry to see that you are feeling off about some issues at the moment:(
Hope things can be worked out mate, hopefully we will meet on a future OBT ride;)

Just my 2 cents worth guys

OK I have just had a 20 min phone call with puddles and it turns out we went to the same school a couple of years apart, we know the same people and laughed about so many things!

We have decided to agree to disagree regarding capping of rides, we are starting fresh, he is remaining an old bull and he will put his name down on the list for the sat the 7th at Wauchope. I am sure he and everybody on the list will make it. B)

We are also going to have a drink and a laugh about this and I am sure things will be different next time and Dave is buying the rums hey Puddles as he seems to be getting you in trouble all the time! :P

But I couldnt convert him to a Honda the bastard!
