 Sounds just like our recent “Gorillas In the Mist Ride” it was the same, steamy, muddy, wet, sloppy but FUN FUN FUN :woohoo:
January 5, 2010 at 1:46 am #167079Wet and muddy was pretty well the theme for all of 2009 up this way after having 3 floods in the one year.

I find it hard to believe you ride without googles Mick. I see you do it so much and it scares me, its one of the more stupid things you do  . Its dumb and stupid when a pair of safety specs do the job or setup up properly to ride
. I use twin lenses and tear offs NEVER fog and tear offs work a treat unless its pouring all day and then its the trusty rag
You only have one set of eyes mate

January 5, 2010 at 4:14 am #166874:blush: I did it too TB, as most of us did on the Gorillas Ride
We got caught out & were underprepared I suppose. I for one have now included a light pair of safety specs in my bumbag for such an occasionI used to run the amber ones accasionally at the MTB races years ago & they were great in the wet, dark conditions
January 5, 2010 at 4:55 am #167094I never used to have my visor down when I rode road bikes either,it is kind of a claustraphobia thing for me.
January 5, 2010 at 6:09 am #167096How often do you bin the twin lenses TB? I had a pair of scott twin lenses and they barely lasted me 1000kms of riding before the lenses separated and the foam delaminated.
I’m going to head down the local pool and see if I can get some anti fog spray for my pro-grips and instead of leaving my safety glasses in my backpack I might get them out next time. I ended up with lots of little cuts across my nose after the murphsberg ride.
January 5, 2010 at 6:20 am #167102About 9 months to date and around 4000kms I would guess maybe more without working it out and they are still brand new. I am anal about my googles and looking after them and preparing them before a ride though
I only replaced the lenses in my first Draggons and they are over 4 years old

January 5, 2010 at 6:25 am #166875Yes TB is very particular about his goggles (anal even)
But look at the use he gets out of them,,,, well worth the effort for longevity of lenses & not to mention the vision quality & EYE SAFETY
January 5, 2010 at 8:33 am #167103Best you start a goggle care thread me thinks TB
January 5, 2010 at 8:44 am #167135Ha I could AB and I might but its way out there, I tried to teach Kylie. I helped her get tear offs etc but alas my student stopped or gave up
I will think about it
