AnonymousHows this for a buy – full exhaust system for Kylie’s TTR. Over sized header pipe and TK slip on muffler for $200. It actually sounds like a bike and goes like a cut snake now. Kylie was suprised with how the TTR goes now (for that matter so was I). When I had the TTR I put a GYTR pipe on it (which is a re-badged TK) and thought it was pretty good, but with the header as well holy crap the thing flies.

AnonymousKylie will be cutting sik and showing you up now then mate
It was a second hand system I take it?
I had thought about one of those header ‘bomb’ things for my bike but decided I should learn to ride it properly before making it faster
Is the header oversize from the head all the way back or does it step up half way down the header?

AnonymousYeah Moto it was second hand. I can’t believe the difference that it makes. We went out today just to see how it goes and it flies. I just need to ride with earplugs in now cause it annoys the crapper out of me. But I’m a bit worried because one of our friends was over this afternoon and I heard some talk about swapping exhaust systems between the TTR and the WR because mine’s bigger. Nuh uh. Not gonna happen.
I’m a little disappointed though because DanD told me that it should make it easier to wheelie but I was practicing today and I’m still struggling to get the front wheel up more than 1 inch of the ground. I will keep trying though.
Oh and as for showing DanD up, I didn’t need a new exhaust for to do that! as if

Hey Menace, give me her number. I’m sure we can talk about lots of ‘performance enhancing’ ideas. Cost is no option when it comes to the love of your life. Right?

Anonymouswe did some research for your trip today kylied
we looked for a servo at saint albans today for your ride. couldn’t see one.
tracy also got a menu from the pub. very pricey:(
however we noticed that some people were eating hamburgers in the park. so we assume that the takeaway sells cheaper food.
the distance from wisemans ferry to the pines is about 90klms via saint albans.
to get fuel from kulnura would be about a 25klm detour on tarmac:(
fuel at wisemans ferry would be 40klms round trip from saint albans, mostly tar (nice ride and we could go down one side of the river and back the other)
we didn’t see the hairy coo this time. must have been on vacation:(
the ride is soo beautiful:)April 13, 2009 at 10:33 pm #128910

Sure the low frequency sounds of a 4stroke carry further, but most of the time we are either way out in the bush (far enough away for nobody to hear) or riding through a town to get fuel in which case you bike is as noisy as the rest.
If you were riding an electric bike you might be in a better position to make comment. Why don’t you buy a 4 stroke bike with a standard exhaust which is much quiter than smoker zinging it’s boobies off
Nice to hear you like it Kylie, you just need to keep Dan away from it now

yes, bass does not get absorbed as easy as treble does.
4 strokes are noisier. take a look at the size of the ‘original’ mufflers on them
when you are round here tomorrow moto. you will notice that all our bikes run the ADR mufflers that came from factory (some bugger has modified the standard NX exhaust. i don’t know if it is quieter or noisier (i expect maybe the latter)). except the elsinore which runs a muffler that is bigger and quieter than standard.
April 15, 2009 at 2:03 am #129115
AnonymousTrue, you do make a concerted effort to keep the noise of your bikes down. But you smoker is still noisy when in town and easily as audible as standard 450 4 stroke
I am guilty as charged for the louder muffler, although I didn’t buy it beacuse it sounds loud. I bought it to change the power characteristic of the bike which it did (although this has been lost to an extent with the new jetting
).
I want to hear the Elsinore go now but I know you want want to upset your neighbours
I try not to start my bike at home unless necessary.

AnonymousI try and do the right thing, and it is seldom turned on (only when changing oil). That said, if they don’t like it tough  My 2 stroke whipper snipper is just as loud, it’s off it’s head!
