that would have to suck husky ,hope it didn’t cause a nasty quick dismount for you

rode mine over weekend with a mate here at home trying to find and make a new track up the back, and then spent last nite trying to improve the suspension what a huge improvent it made :woohoo:

Well its been 4 weeks tomorrow since I ordered my Polaris parts from my local dealer. Better give them a ring and see if they are in yet, well shoot me dead, there ready to pick up, wow.
I even asked him about the e-mail I sent him 10 days ago that was never responded too, seems he read it at least.

    G’day fellow enthusiasts;
I have just completed changing the old XL500 from bush hack to adventure bike.
Slightly better suited to this application.
    The list of changes/improvements include;-
    10.5 piston
    All new valves
Bimetal gaskets for the cylinder and head
Trail Wing tyres, the only ones with 23″dia.
16T front to 39T rear sprockets
Small screen to keep some of the wind off.
Just need a Gel seat pad, to stop the dreaded sore bum issue. (Seat’s Crap)
Cruise 110k/hr which is not fast, but the brakes are less than spectacular so it’s enough.
    Well back to it.
    Later.

Good work Gazza B) Those 23 ” wheels were a brilliant idea wernt they  My dad had the 81 XL250SA I wore the paint off the tank from always pulling wheelies up the Rd. I agree better on the rd than the trails.

Changed my first ever set of tyres today :P To say I am stoked with the outcome would be an understatement. I know it sounds lame by comparison to what others do to their bikes around here but for me it was milestone and a new trick learnt ;)

I even resisted the temptation of squeezing the brakes with the wheels off

Good onya James for having a go mate.
It is a good and necessary skill that you will be happy to have if the need arises to do a change out on the trail mate

Did all your knuckles survive unscathed ??? I did a few in my first couple of times

I whacked a new front sprocket on the 690 this arvo and checked the rear and chain etc ready for next weekend if we get the gren light ;)
