June 23, 2014 at 10:11 pm #257797Gave my bike a service last weekend and re-fitted the stock tail extender and blinkers for the pink slip. My mechanic had said to leave it with him this week and he’d get to it when he could. As I rode it in yesterday, he told his young bloke to inspect it straight away “before this bloke thaws out!” – so I was back on the road in 15 minutes! Next job is to remove the stock tail extender and blinkers again, and re-fit my mountain goat offroad versions!
June 23, 2014 at 10:52 pm #227603my truck went in today for major service and tune up for a bit more HP (opened up to 580 HP :woohoo: :woohoo: ) , the boss says you may as well have a sports day at home and paid for it  , so straight in today for a M12 front and see what sort of value rear and service on the bike ready for a Monkerai run on the weekend .

June 25, 2014 at 11:08 am #257840I pulled the head and barrel of the piglet (XR400), ordered valve guides as there was a fair bit of burnt oil on stems, and trying to line up someone to give the barrel a ‘bore n hone’ +0.5mm from Std
Seems the engine machinists on the central coast have dried up. Called Hypoformance at West Gosford, and yet to hear back. What’s the going rate for a single pot bore and hone? I can ship, just adds to the cost I suppose.
Cheers

June 28, 2014 at 8:48 am #257851Just bought a set of spoke tools so I can swap the NOS rim and spokes onto K8ii’s hub.
Got a compleat front wheel off eVilbay but was a 17 mm axle unit.
Adapting bearings to accept the 20 mm axle wasn’t feasible.
Will be my first wheel build.
