You’ll have to let us know what the 480 kit goes like mate :) Did you put too little/small shims in or the other way round?

Made a load more work for us :S

Had a short ride around the local roads tonight(about 20 mins) just to put some time on the motor and it does seem to be very smooth and fairly punchy  although I did’nt really give it much ,

A flash around Kenilworth on sunday should tell us ;)

New brake pads on the RMX and bought some new tyres but too lazy to fit them. Think I might take it out tomorrow and give the old tyres one last run.

Bike has 1700km on it, so how far does everyone else get out of a set of chain and sprockets?

Still running the rear tyre Murph 😆 hope to get another ride out of that(Murph sold my a tyre before he left,4 rides on….9.5mm tread left)

No that’s a real bad idea Bob. That’s what happened at that BD ride 2011 to me. I had to get towed back to camp by a HONDA!!
The old well known sign of wear was lifting the chain off the rear sprocket. If it lifts more than halfway off the teeth it’s shagged. Looking at the front sprocky, thin teeth, curved teeth, very wide gap between teeth – all bad. Many riders replace 1 front for every rear and chain as they wear (visibly) quicker than the rear.

just keep an eye on how the joining link is wearing, that was the reason my son Tom’s chain snapped and went through the case

The chain can be run for a while even if it’s not in great condition, but it’s not the best thing to do

    +1 on the joining link.

Last time I fitted a new chain I noticed that I only had half of the circlip left holding the joiner together, hte other half had wornaway :(
