Anonymousi once looked into what bike you could register in most usa states. at the time not much.
it’s seems DRs and XR trail bikes are the hot stuff.
we are quite lucky here really to have rego WRFs, EXCs etcMarch 24, 2009 at 12:33 am #126568The American systems of governance are almost third world in consistency, look at california, it has much stricter laws than Texas, so rodworthy in one state may not comply in the next, same across their whole legal system, just indicative of their systems of government.
They are in absolute disbelief at some of our legal bikes, pipedreams for most of them.

Although you can get a permit to ride a RM85 in the Californian deserts and state recreational areas, but you can’t get that here in NSW (except for a small section of Stockton beach).
March 24, 2009 at 1:42 am #126590Don’t they have to be asessed as “environmentally friendly” to get the green sticker to be used on public lands, cause the boyz on TT are always worrying about “green” versus “non-green” stickere bikes?
March 24, 2009 at 3:43 am #126591Dunno about the green sticker thing, but I have seen a RM85 imported from the states and it had a public lands rego sticker valid for a year on the fork leg.
March 24, 2009 at 4:01 am #126598Yep Mick that’s the ticket (sticker even), prior to 2005 or 2003 (can’t remember they could get the bikes approved by model and year type, now basically the californian autocrats have banned all smelly smokers from using public lands unless they were built prior to those dates.
that’s my understanding of the issue sorta like a rough version of the mexs’ recreational rego deal.
