Ok well just asking what sprocket ratios people are running.
I’ve just put 13 on the front and 50 on the rear.
It had a 50 on the rear when I got it but cant remember if it was a 13 or 14 on the front.
I did change the rear to a 46 and at one time there was a 14 on the front, not sure if I put it on or it was already on it.
So what do we have running around out there?????
July 29, 2013 at 8:21 am #247225No idea Boze, only done 110 hrs on it since I got it, think I adjusted it once or twice but never looked. The old girl rocks along so it sort of in the I don’t really care catergory.
July 29, 2013 at 8:27 am #247229Running 14-51 on the 450x,smoothed the power delivery out and a bit more top end.

I’m also running 14-51 on the 250x which is spot on

July 29, 2013 at 8:50 am #247233You need to compare same for same Boze eg: KTM 300 for KTM 300
Bikes have different gear ratios internally that differ and create a different counter shaft final drive ratio
Just cause a 14/48 works on a XR 400 it will be all out of sorts on a KTM 400 more than likelyTB
July 29, 2013 at 8:53 am #247235KTM 450 SX
Was 14-52
Now 14-50
Doesn’t seem as hell bent on spitting me off the back of the dam thing nowJuly 29, 2013 at 8:54 am #247236Trailboss wrote:You need to compare same for same Boze eg: KTM 300 for KTM 300Bikes have different gear ratios internally that differ and create a different counter shaft final drive ratio

Beat me to it TB. Stock on a DRZ250 is 14/42 and I’m running 14/46. Means nothing to anyone except another DRZ250 rider.
July 29, 2013 at 10:00 am #247237Yeh point taken TB.
But so far we got 14-50, 52. Mostly Honda. After the quick lap around the paddock and up the road I’m thinking I should have put a 14 on the front. But we will see how the bike handles it on Sunday. I know the front wheel is going to get more air time :woohoo: I’ll just see if I can control the throttle (think with brain not right hand).
Oh its on an 08 KTM 530
Thanks guys
July 29, 2013 at 10:10 am #247226Hey boze
I run 15-52 on my 530. Still gets me up murphs basin runs but gives me a decent transport speed
July 29, 2013 at 10:20 am #247246hay boze i found 14 50 okay but favoured 14 52 on my last bike 08 530 be interesting how 13 50 will go

Mmm that sounds high. But ok.
I was happy with the 13-46 I had. I can remember putting the 46 on to tame it as the front did lift a bit and to run over to Gunnedah (80km). Just trail riding it a lot now & looking for happy medium.
Thanks
