If you put a 450 piston and head on the 250 without changing the stroke you get 388.59cc ;) If you put a 450 piston and head, new conrods etc, so that the stroke is the same it will be 449.3 just like the other 450’s.

Maybe when this is all sorted you can split this thread and leave the original as a how to and set the “other” as a how to derail :D

Yeah but you sadi putting a 450 head on a 250 makes it a 350 and it doesn’t. The 350 kit is a cutom designed top end.

I would very much doubt that a manufacturer such as KTm would make a “one bottom end fits all” setup as husqvarna did this and revolving mass kills the power and response on the smaller revvy motors, I would believe some of the cases are interchangeable, but there is very little market benefit to be gained from this style of engineering, as you can save weight by design to brief or end use. Otherwise a KTM 250excf would weight almost as much as the 450, no advantage there.

BTW Moto somewhere in that argument you sounded Austistic, by being literal, both are acceptable reference terms of displacement, bloody anorak

Please limit the amount of dribble and crap slinging in the tech help thread, if some one has posted here its because they need help or can help. Any posts that we the Admin team think are non constructive, aren’t helpful or aren’t asking a question will be moderated, there are plenty of other places to carry on the OBT way. Other than that same same as per the normal OBT
