While I’m in a posting mood,
I was sitting and thinking about ranking the rides I had been on during the year,
tho I don’t remember being on a bad one as they are all good….But my 3 top rides I had been on
1. Ben Bullen part of Mals 2 dayer cause it was tough and only just doable…….. only just. :woohoo:
2 Maxwell flats ride with Boony and co cause it’s a secret
:cheer:
3 Motos magical mystery tour pre run….. another must do hard ride. :cheer:
So did you go on any top rides this year?
and tell us which ones they were and why you reckon they were the best rides of 2012. :cheer:
December 23, 2012 at 10:07 am #234362Moto’s mystery pre run was good. Havn’t done that stuff for years
Vic High Country ADV ride, Haunted Stream, Billy Goats Bluff, Pinicles, Mt Pinnibar
Simpson Desert French and Hayes River Tk ADV ride, easy, hard, easy, frustrating, fun, exhausting, challenging, eye opening, achievement, life changing
Unfortunately I missed some great organised big rides due to other committments and broken bones
Every ride is the best ride no mater what happens
December 23, 2012 at 10:18 am #234363Every time I get to ride a bike is a highlight here goes ….
1. Noosa- very physical , technical in spots and very fast at times. Everything a ride should be.
2. Cape York – Amazing route , great company , the only way to see the Tip ( IMO) .
3. Micks Backyard Bash- Moose lead a great loop with fun hills and top singles , the piss up one to remember. And Grass track for the 1st time made it for me.
Joint 3rd . Hills of Gold – loved the pine singles on the 250 more than I ever thought I would. Epic

December 23, 2012 at 10:45 am #234375Hmm that would be a hard one.
APC pre run with TB and Homer was fast as TB said. that was great. (because I returned home alive)
The Weekend at Hotel Paradiso at Byabarra was a cracker.
Equal third was the weekend at KTMBULL’s, The Scrapheap Adventure Ride and Coffs Harbour rates a mention, even if it did have that bastard of a hill called “No Lines” on it.
December 23, 2012 at 11:06 am #234376The two day nav ride was a great one.
The Byabarra hotel paradiso weekend was awesome.
The scrapheap adventure ride was a classic.
Hope next year is as good as this one. :woohoo:
PTW
December 23, 2012 at 11:21 am #234377I didn’t get out on too many rides this year but probably;
Coffs harbour or Nundle, I can’t really split the 2
The 2 day Nav ride was good for most of it until poor old Cob’s bike broke down,
,,,,,,,,and then any other rides I did without hurting myself or the bike breaking down. Bulls would have been up there had it not been cut short by electrical gremlins.
December 23, 2012 at 1:06 pm #234364For me it has to be Mick & Mooses Choppy weekend.
Noosa
And the first 20 minutes I rode my brand new bike around Nickj’s estate. Equal to those was Bello to Lowanna. Epic!!STM
December 23, 2012 at 8:05 pm #234365For me it would be
The two day NAV ride
Coffs Harbour
Birthday ride to Hill End Pub for lunch
And this was not so much of a ride ,but a fast run over the mountains to Walcha with PTW and TB. For drinks at the Asbley Inn on the TK ride. Great night with Ace and Chris.
Cheers
Strucky
December 23, 2012 at 9:23 pm #234366Nundle – Pines, Pines, Pines… I love pines.. mmmmmm… the Tamworthians have an awesome backyard… Great crew and great organised weekend….
Coffs – Big Day, challenging and an awesome group.. STM has an awesome backyard…. The gathering of this size was exceptional with no dramas and fun to be had by all……..
Sunny Corner with Galey + Ourimbah + Lidsdale – Hard, Challenging, Hard, Challenging oh and Hard… More of this in 2013 for me….
Yeah number 3 includes 3 but these day rides all were equal and deserve equal ranking in my top 3….
I’ll add my 3 goals for 2013 – Give up smokes for good, get fit and ride more grade 4….
December 23, 2012 at 10:14 pm #234380What a great post Dude
My 3 will be a bit different as I don’t get to ride many of the Old Bull rides but here goes…
1. Coffs…. Great to catch up with the OB crew and Scott always puts on a cracker weekend
2.Kenilworth Chook Chase….. Part of the Dalby Moto Series and this year was the best one I’v done.
3.Murphys Creek….. Again part of the Dalby Moto Series and the first time I’d done the ride but it was a good un.
The Noosa ride weekend was a good one as well as it’s always good to catch up with the OB guys
December 23, 2012 at 11:25 pm #234367My fav was the 2 Day Nav Ride paired up with Ace
It was a fair challenge and I think we went prety well in a fair time amongst the group.
#2 probably my ride to Sunny Corner and back for the birthday ride weekend (first long ride I have ever led and got them there in one piece
#3 is hard but I think my numerous solo rides thru the year to Laguna, Yango, Watagans are hard to beat
December 23, 2012 at 11:33 pm #234368It’s a shame 2012 is dusted but newyear’s reso is “Do More Rides” so this thread will be hard to reply to. :woohoo:
3 good rides for 2013
1: The KLR Rally at the Flinder rangers, bad part about that was the roads were all flooded. Could not get to Forbes and Condo. Had to Slab-it too much and got 6 days out of my back tyre.
2. The Scrapheap Rally was good and a fun ride with some blokes on bike in places that should not of been there
3. The Far Cain Rally, it was good to catch up to some blokes that I met at the KLR, the ride out west on Saturday over to Nymagee for lunch.
If we were allowed 4: Catching up with Kat and the others @ Wyangla Dam
All the best

December 24, 2012 at 1:50 am #234388Great Thread Dude.
1. Cape York. It took me more than 20 years to finally get there on a bike. The whole trip was better than I expected.
2. APC Pre-run with Homer. From Wautopia to the beach and then to Bellbrook via the Macleay Valley. This was such a cracking ride, it had everything. Including Homer doing his things on a 990
3. A ride I did with Mick, Moose and Johnno a couple of months back. Moose and Johnno looked up some tracks they hadn’t ridden for more than 15 years and we went exploring. I don’t think many people had been on them since Moose and Johnno had been there last. Fantastic day finished off in Mick’s shed
