I called in at the D`s this arvo as planned, & caught Dan on his knees praying to the new beast:P
Nah, he was tinkering, changing pegs on the 250, changing over the black guards for the standard Bluebits etc
It looks like a good buy in my book;)
Man the shed now looks like a scene from the local Yammy Dealer:laugh:  (with the exception of one mighty Green MachineEnjoy it Dan

a)for a laugh
b)cause all yamaha 450s need to be kick started on a cold morning as the battery is to small
c)on a 40 degree + day when the bike stalls on a hard hill and he forgets about the hot start button and has to kick it like a bastard to get it stated.Dan – get yourself sorted with the bike and come riding with me and murph next weekend. he says we’re not going to the place you guys went last weekend.
I know it’s a small step backward going back to a carby bike but that’s the price you pay. I actually started today and had to be reminded to turn the fuel on and pull the choke out:huh: The WRR made me lazy of all that stuff.
Whats the go with the hot start lever? Is it like a decommpression thing or something. I have a lot to learn with this one.
I am suprised how light it is though and if I ride as bad as what I did last weekend when I do get out I need the lightest bike possible:blush:

Wonder how the test ride went today ???
Dan was hoping to get a little ride in today with Princess by his side to test out the 450;)Will have to wait I suppose to find out the outcome,,,,,
Prepare for the HOOTING:woohoo:June 8, 2009 at 5:12 am #138591
Anonymoushe told me, in cofidence ofcourse, he kept stalling it. and then kept having trouble starting the beast.
maybe he is scared of it
but then again, he did say he was bottoming it.

Hot start levers suppose to be for starting when the bike is hot, ie stuck on the side of a big hill or similiar, I have never had to use mine, it acts as a quick choke.. Can I book a test ride when we next ride together, I had the opportunity to upgrade to a 450 a little while back that wouldn’t have cost me much cash but decided to stay with the 250
Chris.
June 8, 2009 at 6:34 am #138389C`Mon Dan, How`d ya go today ?????
Whats the goss on the stalling & bottoming from Champo????Man, I can`t get over the similar height to the 250 & not to mention the seemingly less weight!!! Must be a balance thing, it can`t be lighter than the 250 (can it ???)
Hope it went well anyway for ya;)

Hey Eagle, Dan can fill you in on how it went but in regards to weight yes it can be lighter than the 250R
WR450F – Wet weight 123kgs with 8 litres fuel
WR250F – Wet weight 118kgs with 8 litres fuel
WR250R – Wet weight 125kgs with 7.5 litres fuel
TTR250 – Dry weight 120kgs but add approx 9.5kgs(max) for 9.5 litres of fuel = 129.5kgsI did some research when looking into replacing the TTR because I want the bike as light as possible for me. See I should have gone with the WR250F but I think I would’ve forgone some plushness. Oh well.
As for the height I think the guy must’ve had it lowered because standard seat height is 990 yet I can touch on it

AnonymousI wondered when it would happen!
I spoke to Dan on Saturday too and he seemed pretty pleased with it. It sounds like good value for money with all the extra bits on it too. I’m looking forward to going for a burn with him again now

After seeing how good the 450 makes you look I thought I’ve gotta have one of those:laugh:
I am pretty happy with the 450. It goes somewhat quicker than the 250. I just have to get some more ride time in to master the beast.
What you only looking forward to going for a ride with me now I’ve got a 450. I will have to find another excuse for not being able to keep up with you now:blush:

Stalling – Hmm lack of ability
Botteming – refer to aboveNah it went really good, very light bike and FAST.
I am going to have a look at the clickers and spring tension on it, cause as Kylie said the bloke that I bought it off was a bit lighter and shorter than me so I think things have been backed off a little bit.

AnonymousGlad to see you’re enjoying it Dan. I guess it will take a bit of getting used as you don’t need to be WOT everywhere! We both ride a similar pace so it’s fun having a play in the bush with you
