Had a look at a set of pivoting pegs on a bike on sunday. They dont move very far! Are they for people without ankles or a re-invented wheel.
This is my 34th year of riding, all without these, and Ive done ok till now! Anyone remember boot savers?December 14, 2010 at 2:22 am #192554Re invented wheel

When I get on a bike with out them fitted,it feels weird now.December 14, 2010 at 4:32 am #192556Pegs smegs. Overrated. I removed my pegs years ago and go bearback. Saved a heap of weight off the bike and allows me to move around on the bike much easier. Much easier to paddle through deep ruts without catching my thongs on the pegs of skinning my ankles.

December 14, 2010 at 4:53 am #192557Yeah, yeah. Read all the fluff many times but I look at them and what, 20deg rotation? Maybe as I get older and my ankles seize up they will look better! So my already level ?? riding will be % better with these???

Someone had to laugh, surely.
In all seriousness, I have not owned a set yet but appreciate the fact that your boot soles get a break from the front-of-peg pressure. Might get an extra year or 2 out of our $500 boots.

I laughed, I even snorted a little!
Maybe next you should lock up the steering head, remove the bars and fit reins…..think of the extra weigh saving then!Or the narrower tracks you could ride!! Future barrell racing champ.

Nice work Axel. Maybe you can start a thread of weight saving performance gains? On topic, I tried pivot pegs and decided that, while they do work, I’d rather pivot on the soles of my boots and have a solid peg under my feet. They are not for everyone.

Mission accomplished then.
Reins…..classic. 😆
Hey Ecks that’s not a bad idea. If I’m feeling funny again soon I might fire up a new thread on it. I’m sure Crash here will be willing to help out!
