Well thanks to Chris who finally got some support from the Internet host that hosts OBT. First problem was we ran out of bandwidth, second problem was once we paid more the hosting company basically lost us and three of Chris’s major sites he looks after day to day  Once Chris got them on the job they eventually got it sorted.
We pay for a certain amount of bandwidth every month and as we are growing and the site grows so does the amount of bandwidth we use. Bandwidth costs money and so it costs money to run OBT. We try to provide a free site, we don’t and won’t have adds in the pages, the rides are free and like to give away prizes etc but it costs money. We started a donation tab and there has been some donations which we thank whoever those people are ( we don’t see who donates what or how much it’s not about that ) facts are we are a not for profit web site. We have never made a cent from this for ourselves but we need it to pay it’s own way as it has been funded from some site sponsors and personally for nearly 4 years. If every active member donated just $5 we would be able run the site and buy stickers have prizes and give aways if thats what people want.

Anyway we are back and happy to be here, another night with the family would have seen some bodies buried somewhere

Out of curiosity how much bandwidth a month are we using?
I’ve been using Aussiehq (changed names a few times now) for 14 years, they have top service.
Been trying Crazy domains for another site and they have unlimited everything for $4.75/Mth.

Would only take an hour to move OBT to another server.

We use over 120 GB a month Dickie and it would take more than an hour to move mate  Chris would be better qualified to answer any questions. I know we have over 5 million hits a month, well that was over a year ago so itwould be heaps more than that now. Mick often comments regarding the amount of traffic we have from Japan not to mention the US and Europe.
There is heaps more to it than just how much we use regarding bandwidth some of the stats around the site are amazing like the amount of traffic, the individual hits etc. It is massive certainly bigger than I ever thought. I know you look after the Hasting Valley club site and have some experience but a forum based site as active as this uses heaps more and takes heaps more to run day to day not t mention the space and traffic used doing weekly back ups.
Chris is always looking for somewhere else as he maintains a heap of web sites, we are only one but by far that largest for bandwidth and traffic

I’ll always remember where I was when OBT went down. I was lost for a few days there.
I’ll try and donate when I get home.

I was on tele conferences most of the day, on the road for a couple of hours and then working at Adv Moto last night. I didnt need to check but I didnt need to as I had a steady stream of texts and calls asking what was going on  If I had been near a computer I would have been checking all the time

You could always sell a few of your goats that you keep out in the shed. Their back end looks a bit shagged but you could still make a kebab out of them.
